CyberpowerPC has the same laptop with the 11800H for $1669 for both the 15" and 17" versions that also have QHD 165hz displays instead(17" fixes the battery issue with the 15", as the 15" only has a 60wh battery vs the 90wh battery on the 17", not sure why they gimped the battery on the 15" versions despite it being a thin and light).

These are great laptops that are incredibly lighter despite their power, although they do run very hot as a consequence but within limits to still deliver good performance. They're more well known as the Eluktronics Max 15, which is the same laptop and all are rebrands of a "generic" tongfang chassis.

Yes, the chassis is same as the Eluktronics Max 15. However, they have used a 165 Hz 1440p panel vs this one with a 1080p 240 Hz Panel.

The Advantage Edition is supposed to drop in the next month or two in stores with the 5900 and 6800 in 17 inch form. Hoping for right at this price point, at least on sale.

Well one is a 15.6" laptop that weights 3.5 pounds. The other is a 17" laptop that weighs 6 pounds.

To be fair, I'd like to see someone put that laptop on a scale to measure. Every thin/light 15.6" gaming laptop is in the 4.5 pound range. Not sure how they were able to shave off 25% of the weight.

Have they ironed out the issues found in the 15 inch version? Seems like there's a ton of them being returned at Best Buy do some heat issue or something? I read that monster thread and people mention random restarts and such.

So, part of me wonders if the delay for the 17" getting to the US marker is due to that. Not sure to be honest but the official release date for the US was a while ago and it's no where to be found yet. The primary issues I know of with the 15 is that after launch they switched from hand applied liquid metal to automated and the auto process was applying too much and overheating/frying GPUs. So fingers crossed its either not a issue at all for the 17 or that the delay is because they are fixing it first.

I believe the CyberpowerPC Tracer V is not the same as the Max 15. It's the same as the Mech 15. These days, every manufacturer will have two variants of a 15" gaming laptop. A full bore one that's usually a little thicker and about half a pound heavier and a thin and light. Somehow this Tong Fang managed to squeeze in a full power 3070 into a thin and light frame. Go figure...

This is a good deal at face value for a superlight gaming laptop, but I have had 3 different models of these from MC (5800H+3070, 11800H+3070 and 11800H+3080 17") and they all have significant issues with sleep not working properly and leading to a crash/killing battery.

Buyer beware - Maingear/Eluktronics are just resellers of Tongfang laptop chassis and have to rely on them for major fixes/BIOS updates. Generally takes a long time.

This one is more like 4LBS, and settles around 3.9-4 in reviews but yeah g17 is much bigger, but also has much better battery life(this laptop only has a 60wh battery sadly)
