This doesn't have HDMI 2.1 so I'd go with the Sony

It also can't do 120hz at any resolution.

The website doesn't seem to be updated yet, but this is also suppose to include a $160 Costco Shop Card beginning today (9/19/21).

Will the in-store offer the $160 shop card? If yes, it will be very tempting.

If you never game, I think it is a slick deal for those without shopexchange. There was recent deal for 65 inch model with vrr and 120hz at shopexchange for $1515 tax free.

They always have in the past. I'm going to check back tomorrow to see if the website updates before making a call. Yes... with the Allstate Protection, a $160 Shop Card, and a $100 streaming credit, this does seem quite enticing if you don't need all the bells and whistles.

if you can afford it get the sony. This is really the budget OLEd from LG and that means it is less bright with less good HDR. It is not a bad tv, but if you can afford the C1 or SONY then go for those as they are brighter and with better HDR and HDMI2.1

Any luck with Costco?

I did a quick chat with Costco online. The person there says she couldn't open the link and there is no $160 Shop Card.

Weird ...

The incentive of $160 Shop Card does show up online now.

I am not a gamer, so some bells and whistles (120hz, VRR, etc.) don't mean much to me (at least in short term).

Trying to make a decision between A1 ($1600-$160) and A80J ($1800) ...

I think for $200 more I'd go with the Sony. If this was the C1 or CX vs the Sony probably a much tougher decision.

It is actually $360 + a small tax amount

But agreed, still lending towards Sony.
