If that's your goal, you may be better off with a model that already has more buttons built in (depending on the types of games you want to add). I went the Legends Ultimate route which includes two joysticks plus six buttons each (so great for most types of games) and am very happy with it, but price was a bit higher.

Arcade 1 up really needs to bring down the insulting prices on other cabinets. They went up so much this year!!
$299-$399 max is about right. These new ones coming out at $500-$700 is insane

I hate when I hear this...people on Etsy steal other peoples work for free and then charge $40 dollars. Do a search for "Sauce" on the Internet Archive.

You have to give up the game board and buy a bunch of stuff. Like raspberry pi, controller board, lcd interface board.

Lots of YouTube videos talking about it.

Sorry to ask, as I'm new to these.

But, are they full size units, similar dimensions to an 80's upright arcade pac man?

I love that Arcade1up has brought arcade style cabinets to the masses (I own a modded first gen Mortal Kombat) but this should be the starting price not the sale price. A single control unit like this should be $200 tops.

No, they're more like 1/2 to 2/3 scale. So even with the riser they're still quite a bit more narrow than normal arcade cabinets

No these are smaller and much lighter. Relatively easy to move around if needed.

From Walmart:
Assembled Dimensions: 57.8" H x 19" W x 22.75" D
Weight: 79.5lb

Part of it is because they include more games than previous sets, not to mention the marquees that light up

Same. Been waiting for the price to hit $299 or less for this one - surprised it did already (even if just for a day). People should grab it now, as it will won't be this price again.
