Is this gen 4 speed something you'd notice in game loadtimes or Windows operations?

Depends on what you are upgrading from. If you are going from a ssd to m2, you will definitely notice. If you're going from gen 3 to gen 4, it's not as noticeable.

Awesome thanks, yeah it'll be from a 500GB SN750 so maybe not worth it.

But when DirectStorage comes with Windows 11, there may be a noticeable difference.

If you're looking at this for the ps5, you could also save $50 and get the 750 instead. Or even wait for that to go on sale to save even more. It was tested out recently (just this week) and in-game performance is pretty much the same. Only difference you'll see is when transferring data between the internal and this one. And installing the data from a disc.

Does this and or the 750 have the heatsink?
