Lots of people do diets like keto, carnivore which limit fruits, so adding a supplement may be needed

Super helpful if you're fearful of scurvy but unless you're a 18th century British sailor and you're out of limes it won't help with much else.
Here's a good Cochran database article looking at studies that basically showed vitamin C doesn't really do much to fight viruses (the common cold for starters).
