There may be a way to program your car to do that. Cigarette lighter plugs are sometimes switched through a relay and the negative pole can be trained to behave differently on some models.

I have a Roav transmitter I bought. It supports turbo charging on its USB ports. That's important to me if I use the USB on short trips to revive my phone. I paid about the same amount on a sale. I may still get one of these for my boat though.

If you rent cars a lot, these are great.
