I got these the last time they were on sale. I wish I would have invested in speakers sooner. It's like I'm experiencing movies and music for the first time. You hear stuff you never knew was there. At 250 bucks this is a no-brainer if you are in the market.

Definitely pair it with a subwoofer in the future.

Most people would prefer these speakers, so I would disagree with you there.

The 530s aren't perfect, but most of what they do wrong is hardly noticeable. Wharfedale speakers, for the most part, are not great. They make many, so they have a few that are decent if you sit in the sweet spot only.

Amazing speakers. Bought them for that price, and definitely worth that -- and some more. Even better with a sub.

Pretty good, but not as a good deal as the wharfedale 11.2 when they were $199 a pair.

What's a good center to pair with these? I'm replacing a pair of DCM TP160s

Would these pair well with a JBL Studio 235C center channel? I'm having really bad issues with sound on my cable box (FIOS) with balance between my center and my L-R speakers, which are older Kenwood towers.

I felt the same when I was upgrading to these from Elac Debut B6. Wow, what a difference. These are very good and versatile $300 speakers. But there are other options and the fun is always to find the next favorite. And you may end up with a basement full of speakers like me.

It should be pretty close tonally even though the 530's use compression horns instead of a CMMD tweeter.

A130 with a similar tweeter and build:

can anyone help compare these to B&W VM1 for surround front left and right speakers? https://hometheaterreview.com/bw-...-reviewed/

I have these as my surrounds paired with my JBL 590s LCR and they sound great!

Having heard both I would agree with you.

Sound is subjective so a person's preference in sound will play a major role which one someone would prefer.

These do have a wider dispersion but the 11.2's sound quality is better IMO.

The 11.2's are a little more efficient so people may find these need more power to get them to their potential.

These have a bigger footprint and aren't aesthetically pleasing to look at.

They both need a good sub.
