Fanflix has a new offer with most or all of these titles in it. 4 for $20 with uhd options for some.

Even though these Vudu packages show HDX, there could be movies in this package that are UHD? Is that correct? Or will they all be HDX if I choose that. Never understood their vague explanation on these packages.

What is frustrating is that several of these movies are available in 4K individually, but not in the bundle.

VUDU clearly states you will receive 4k versions on these if available. I purchased it and got HD for all. Had to waste my time refunding, going to purchase for same price on iTunes and see how that goes.

iTunes will always give you 4K if buying a bundle and it contains them. So long as you don't buy SD. And, they will upgrade you to 4K on the HD movies for free if they ever go 4K. Never buy HD movies anywhere else if you can avoid it.

I would argue that most of his movies have aged rather well. And best is a tough call with Kubrick. Almost everything from Dr. Strangelove on was amazing. Even his older work had promise, though he equipment and photography styles are a bit dated. I don't think Kubrick had invented all that many techniques and probably little or no equipment, e.g. the lense system he invented to be able to shoot entirely by candlelight so he could film Barry Lyndon without adding electric light. Not my favorite movie, but just an example of him being a total badass.

If you buy the package in HDX, you will get all the movies in HDX. If any of the movies are UHD, you will have to buy them again to get UHD.

Thanks. That's what I thought. I bought a different 3 movie package that came in HDX. Then I searched an hour later and found two of the three were 4K. And the total price was the same. They were individually under sale priced on vudu. Should be a warning in the wiki section of any vudu slick deals for vudu packages. Maybe I will create something to warn others. What a waste.

That's not uncommon for VUDU. Just do your extra diligence and make your purchasing decision accordingly.
