Do you also laugh at people that shoot hoops in their Jordan's like they are in the NBA? Or wearing cleats to play futbol like they're playing to win the FIFA World Cup? Or cook with All-Clad pans like they're an iron chef???

Oh, and for the weight weenies out there - Shimano claims 265 grams per pair. For the metric challenged... that's about 9.3 oz. They're probably the best "higher end" bang for the buck pedals on the market.

I have these exact pair and love em. I am no weight weenie, but appreciate the design and the ability to snap out whenever I want easily. I paid about 125 for it 6 months ago so pretty good deal

oh and I haven't fallen yet with them.. but now that I jinxed myself... ugh

$125 was actually a decent deal. I was seeing a lot of places selling 105 pedals for $150 or more. Also, you have to be very careful where you buy them, as there are a lot of counterfeit Shimano pedals being sold on eBay and Ali Express.

looks like there might be a possibility that these are really good counterfeit shimano pedals as well according to some reviews?

These are sold from Amazon, directly. More than likely, any claims of Shimano counterfeits on Amazon are coming from third party sellers. Remember, some sellers also ship too - so, Amazon might not even be the shipper on counterfeits (if that claim is even true, ofc).

Pass. I'm riding Dura Ace already so these would be step down.
DA Pedals sell for $280, so you could purchase almost 3 pairs of the 105s for one pair of DAs. Also, claimed weight on DAs is 228g vs 265g on the 105s. That's a 38g difference for 3x the price. 1 oz = 28g

Finally some bike parts coming back! I bought this exact pair at the start of the pandemic for an insane amount because I needed them. Bikes can't pedal without pedals. They've worked out great with no issues. Now I just need the blue cleats to get down to ~$15 the way the yellow and reds were pre pandemic.

Really depends on your feet. Go to a local bike shop, they probably have a ton of shoes available as the supply chain on those wasn't disrupted as badly. LBS also had the right measurement tools for bike shoes as well. I really like Specialized, Pearl Izumi and Shimano for bike shoes because the toe boxes are big and breathable.
