This is actually a better deal than recent bare M18 mid-torque gen2 impact if you want the boot. These boots are awesome - fit well and protect well. As with the rest of "hackable" deals, the battery is just an unwanted overpriced filler that you would order and return for refund individually. This overpriced item actually reduces the price of the wanted item by $89.20 down to $159.80+tax for the tool+boot.
So order both, receive both, return battery for refund.

I see 249 bucks. What does the boot do?

If you add the 5.0ah battery to the cart, you can return the battery separately for $89.20 and the cost of the tool is only $159.80.

The boot is just a protective cover, but lots of professional mechanics like having them.

I paid $134 + tax for the gen 2 mid torque, after hack.
I wouldn't pay $26 for a rubber boot.

Believe the main draw is to be able to remove it and wash grease/oil/crud off, whereas washing the impact itself takes a bit more care.

Would you pay less than $10 for the boot? My Honey App is offering bonus points worth $16.70 for the impact (battery purchase not required for Bonus Honey points). YMMV.
I've had great success with Honey, over $350 claimed GC's so far this year.

Great deal IMHO. I agree that the boot is a bit costly for what it is but it protects the tool and I prefer to keep my hand and power tools in the best condition possible. Thanks OP!

Can Honey be used in conjunction with coupon codes, or is it 1 or the other?

Just what I needed to see today đŸ˜‚. In for one. Replacing the last gen mid torque that I use at work. Now I can keep this at home and not have to cart it back and forth.

I've earned Honey points (bonus and regular) in conjunction with !0% off HD issued discounts, for instance. I believe the only thing you need to be careful of, is another competing online discount/coupon source such as retail me not and others like it. Typically one wins out over the other, from my experience. I choose to temporarily disable all others when taking advantage of the Honey Bonus points. Screen shot the bonus points just like I attached previously for proof if needed.

I bought the ridged impact wrench a few weeks ago from an sd for about $160. It was for my dad…should I return it and get him this instead ? He hasn't even opened it yet, I guess that's a good thing, no tire to change out yet

This deal is $249 with a battery, and you still need a charger.
Rigid is a solid brand with a potentially better lifetime warranty.
Keep the Rigid (unless your dad is or will be investing in the Milwaukee tool line).
