Lowest price I've ever seen for the 3/4" 75' version of this Flexzilla hose. The reason you might want the 3/4" version vs. the more typical 5/8" is that the flow rate is going to be much better at this longer length. The downside is that it adds about 3 lbs.

According to some reviews the problem with the hose is black mold. That's what stopped me from purchasing this a couple months ago. Purchased the black rubber Briggs and Stratton hose and its been good.

Got one a few years ago. Was the best hose for about 2 years, then the sticky mold took it over and made it disgusting to use.

Yep the mold issue is why I've stayed clear. I've known a few ppl locally who have had the issue too, so to me that's an indicator that this happens far to much with this hose for me to want one.

Meh. I don't think most people realize that the vast majority of molds, even black molds are pretty harmless to humans. It's only one certain type that prefers hardwood that is very dangerous.

Yes. Here is a decent article on the topic: The Difference Between 5/8-Inch and 3/4-Inch Garden Hose (sfgate.com) [sfgate.com]

However, the actuals rates are probably limited by your max flow rate at the spigot.

Mold on the outside or inside of the hose? I have had a flexzilla for 5 years without mold issues but I guess I never looked inside- not sure how to do that anyway

For those who've dealt with mold, do you live in areas of the country with high heat and/or humidity? I'm asking because I live in the Pacific NW which - except for three days back in June - has fairly mild summers and low humidity.

Yep. Southern Texas here. And it's almost swampy weather. Mine is moldy too but I use the mold bleach once or twice a year and they looked like new again
