Thanks OP! My nails need help, so maybe this is just what I need. If not, it's a cheap "add-on" item to get the larger S&S discount next month.

As a guy who uses his nails as a tool for scraping things, picking up things, testing blade sharpness, and other tasks, it was entirely too late in my life that I realized the importance of providing a strength coat to prevent painful and annoying disasters.

Every so often I would have to deal with a decent portion of the nail on one of my thumbs (and often a interior finger as well) splitting off partly, then trying to super-glue it together (usually unsuccessfully) to prevent it from shearing a section off leaving some of my nail bed painfully exposed until it grew back.

A few years ago after dealing with moving my entire home with two useless and destroyed nails, that I got fed up and looked for a solution. After I did a bit of browsing at the drug store in the nails section I grabbed a nail hardener / strength / clear coat. Once the nails healed I started with with initial applications every day, then once or twice a week as needed,.

I can't express how much this has helped and I wish this wasn't marketed only as a product for people who want to beautify their nails, but also for people who want to *use* their nails.

Guys and gals who need to or want to use their nails as a tool and want to avoid dealing with breaking and splitting them when they try to pry a staple out of a wall with their thumbnail or whatever -- you might benefit from a product like this,

FYI - It does make your nails shiny. I don't know of a way to prevent this, unfortunately,

Mix in a *little* bit of cornstarch. Try a little mix with a toothpick. That will give it a matte look.

Look for a topcoat in "matte". I think sally hansen sells one as well but more pricey. This will remove the glossy look. Good luck!

Should I mix it in the bottle?
