That's the wrong way to look at it. You've been enjoying the service you paid for. This is just a way to get new customers. Next year they'll be in the same boat. And Moviepass is long gone therefore completely irrelevant.

Availability of plans vary by theatre. A surcharge of $1.50-$3 per ticket applies at theatres not included in your plan. Surcharges apply for ScreenX, 4DX, IMAX, RPX, 3D & VIP as well as premium seating. Some foreign language movies and special movie events may be excluded or subject to a surcharge.

Marvelous, so those of Us that already bought in are now suckers, getting billed the full $23.50 / month.

Couple this with the fact that Fathom / Studio Ghibli events are excluded (rendering "Unlimited" a misnomer), and it's a bucketload of "Bleh".

Moviepass was FAR superior...

Has anyone that currently uses the unlimited pass give any info on how much EXACTLY the surcharges are for the premium showings (4DX, IMAX, etc)?

The surcharge is set by theater, so you would need to contact you local theater. For me, it's $6.50 for IMAX and $8.50 for 4DX so I just stick to the standard showings. I got in on the same deal for Black Friday 2019, it's been well worth it for me. Our theaters shut down mid-March 2020 and Regal paused the membership until June 15, 2021. There's so few people in the theaters still that I haven't had to worry about people breathing down my neck.

Are you saying that the monthly fee can be paid with gift cards?

10% off concessions is pretty pathetic considering how marked up they are.
I know AMC A-list isn't any better, but at least they give you free size upgrades

I bought the cards and used them to pay for the full year. To get the $60 off you have to pay for a year in advance. And I used 8 $25 gift cards which I bought on raise.com.
