Ahhhh...the good ol' days when seasons were 20 episodes and not 8.
That's still generally the case, as long as you're watching network television, instead of streaming service originals. I hate the trend of 8-10 episodes.

About 12 years ago I had the pleasure of meeting John Astin socially. He's a really warm and giving individual. He is also a terrific actor full of Hollywood stories. He has been a gift to Johns Hopkins University.

What an insular, ill-founded and repellent perspective to carry, let alone express to others.
If the idea that meritocracy should be more important than "diversity" is repellent to you, then you are a vile and disgusting person. I truly hate people like you. You are what's wrong with the world. Push your racism and sexism elsewhere.

I called someone out for blowing the 'diversity quota' dogwhistle, so of course someone else had to follow up with a dose of projection accompanied by the meritocracy fallacy. I think it's clear enough which side of this spat actually values diversity in media.

Edit: I am sorry to folks who are just here for the deal. This show is fine and beloved.

I'd much rather the 8 episode seasons. I have no time to invest in 20+ episode seasons anymore.

Not so sure about this collection, it seems kind of mysterious and spooky. Stick Out Tongue

did this get a remaster? albeit being SD, hows the quality? any interlacing, jagged edges, moire? asking, since i purchased will&grace season 1 yesterday on prime, also SD. its horrible, but not as horrible as SD versions of the same show available on peacock and hulu, iirc. Also, is the aspect ratio 4:3 as it should be, or did it get a 16:9 treatment from the big brains who run streaming services (examples: cosby show on prime, 3rd rock from the sun on imdbtv etc)?

edit: checked it on roku channel on ipad, looks good. 4:3, no antialiasing, interlacing, looks nice for an old tv show. repped.
I'm fairly certain the Charles Addams Foundation are happy to preserve the aspect-ratio & non-colorization, especially when the originals weren't well preserved by ABC compared to other prime-time shows. HOWEVER ... make no mistake that Orion Pictures (current owners of the original series) are still in this for the profit, as is noted by the show being split into 3 "volumes" when it actually only aired over 2 seasons. At least Amazon & VUDU have given due-diligence about release dates / tech details / etc, whereas Apple rubber-stamped all shows to be dated 1 day before the pilot episode's airing. Confused

Should I buy these on Vudu or iTunes? In this case it doesn't seem to matter right?
It may possibly matter in the longevity of the platform. I could be wrong, but I think Apples might be in business longer than say Vudu. Just my two cents.

I had a crush on Carolyn Jones, she didn't have it easy, kept her cancer secret. Astin became good friends with Carolyn Jones, the actress who played Morticia Addams, and he delivered the eulogy at her funeral in 1983.
