Costco gives you a total of 7 year warranty. 2 standard for buying a tv at Costco + 2 years for using costco citi card + 3 years all state warranty. I'm not concerned about burn in since I don't watch sports with static images and mainly game which is varied content in my use case. Costco also offers 90 returns for any reason.

4% cash back from executive membership and costco citi card.

+$100 streaming credit
+ lg tone earbuds

I'm going the costco route.

If you use your tv normally you won't have buen in don't leave ur on wirh logos for hours or don't take the same game for tons of hours every day in the tv. I've had LG oleds since 2015 none of them had burn in

My LG OLED suffered burn in and color changes after only 3 years with normal use... in my case the color changes involved a huge green blob which they falsely claimed was burn-in which of course is not covered. You can google oled green spot and you will find hundreds of other people who have seen this. I strongly advise people they should not buy OLED without burn-in protection.

It might just be bad luck/ to be honest you can find TVs going bad even if their LED. It can happen but that doesn't mean it's often. In reality most people won't have issues. Whether or not you want to spend the dough on a burn in protected warranty is a personal decision\

Again you are one person. Don't use your personal experience and say most people won't. I have had 2 LG OLEDs both got burn in. Do you hear me saying most people will get burn in? No.

If a person watches things or plays games with static images chances of burn in seem pretty high to me.

I have thought about this - for anyone interested in using as a monitor, I thought this article was pretty comprehensive:

In short, if you plan to mostly display content off of it, depending on where you're sitting relative to the screen, you're probably fine to use it. Not terribly bright, but outstanding performance in other areas including responsiveness.

I did pay more for the CX, yes. And ironically, today was literally the last day to return the CX. Longer lasting software updates and the gaming are also factors in the purchase. The CX was quite bright in my place, a very slight decrease in brightness won't be any difference for me.

But apparently, some C1s have the same panel as the G1 and are brighter as a result. But YMMV of course.
