I'm an idiot and didn't take tax into consideration.
Regardless, in for one. The add'l dimming zones over the 55" variant makes this an incredible buy, especially considering Hisense has shown favored support to this model in updates over the 55".
Guys, if you get this, make sure to register the TV within 14 days of receipt. One of the terms for 100 days trial seem to require you to register the TV in order to be able to exercise your 100 days return right. They also pay you back with visa prepaid or paypal it seems...
Price looks great and very tempting though.

That's 3 Hisense sources stating that that specific model and size is IPS. And you have one costumer who is saying it's VA based on the subjective measure of how it looks from an angel.
Other than Hisense being a complete shit show, I can't think of why they would keep saying it's IPS. And logically I can't think of why Hisense would use a VA panel for the 75U6G and not the 75U7G which is one tier up.
I ended up purchasing this the other day on Amazon from what appears to be a scam seller Central Unlimited for $949. Like many others they marked it shipped with USPS, but then they refunded me a day later and said it was lost by the shipper. I checked USPS informed delivery and there was no package heading to me that was lost. At least they took the initiative to refund me without me asking, as a few others it appears did not get a refund.
They then apologized and said it was unprofessional and said they will list the TV again and will give me a discount and ship it expedited for free if I buy it again through them. She said it would take 24-72 hours for the product to appear again. That was around 80 hours ago.
I went ahead and contacted Amazon this evening and support helped me out and went ahead and let me purchase one directly from Amazon with the same price as my Central Unlimited order that was "lost" by USPS. So in the end I got the 65U8G directly from Amazon for $949. I just had to place the order at the current price, and when it arrives on Friday they will refund me the difference between the two orders.

Out of stock until Amazon delivers our inventory. We apologize for this delay.
Central Unlimited
So odd to have a seller that seems so super scammy also still be so responsive to messages and apparently trying to keep business instead of just vanishing. Oddest purchasing experience I have had on Amazon.

Hope the price will come down to $950 in November.
Do any of you know the lowest will this TV be during Black Friday?
There is no real way to know this early other than guessing based on last year.
Last year the H9G was only $50 off if I recall for Black Friday, going for $949 instead of $999.
It tended to be the much lower end models that had really good sales such as the H6510G which went for $249.
There may not be any huge discounts since the U8G is their second highest end model on the market right now. One could even argue that it is their highest end model that is actually readily available since the U9DG cannot easily be purchased other than from a single vendor that is only taking reservations.
Or maybe there is a curve ball and they have deals to drop it below $1000. No way to know.
Has anyone bought the 65" from this deal and gotten a tracking number yet? I bought it on the 27th and still haven't received a tracking number. Might end up canceling and just having it shipped from Amazon or bestbuy and get it within days without the $70 off code.

I haven't purchased it, but was curious as well how is the Service quality that you received regarding the shipping process. There were numerous nightmare reviews where customers received defective and/or faulty products and never received money back after complaints.
Keep us posted please

Yikes.. been debating but this reall did it. Thanks
Here's an update...called customer service to find out the status of the order. They told me they were closed for the past two days for the Jewish holiday and resuming business today. Said I should receive my tracking number by the end of the business day. Will keep yall posted.

Make sure you use the right code. Its diff depending on 55 or 65 inch
I have two U6G's 75 & 50 inch, on the 50 inch contrast and older 480 content looks better than the 75 so the 50 may be VA but the 75 is not.
Both panels have deep blacks with minimal blooming so I'm happy no matter what type of panel it is.
