Are you kidding? China of course.

You won't find a better sounding speaker for money. That's why these consistently sell out.

Everyone needs to get into hte habit of using that little microphone that comes with most AVRs these days and looking up how to use it properly

It takes some time to set up everything properly, but you willl enjoy your system way more and that kind of acoustic tuning used to cost a lot of money to have someone else do for you.

Just bought a pair of these along with the R12 sub from Harmon, and an RC252 center channel from Amazon to complete the 3.1 setup. Now just need a decent receiver. Thanks!
You mean you got all of these expensive speakers and you can't try them out? Have you been to a physical store to listen to them vs others? Not everyone will agree on sound signatures and performance. Your $ but I wouldn't buy speakers just based on reviews.

How much did the RC252 cost you on Amazon?

I picked up a pair of Infinity R263 Floor Standing speakers a couple of months ago (I absolutely love them) and have been waiting for the center to go on sale. Unfortunately they haven't had that on sale yet.

You can return these free of charge so there's no real risk involved if you don't like them. I bought a pair of Infintiy R263 Floor Standing speakers during one of these sales with that in mind. If I didn't like them I could send them back. I never had to cuz they sound awesome.

I'm aware of the return policy. fruman44 has mentioned that he just needs to buy an avr so I'm assuming he might not be able to listen to these speakers before the return window.

OP, add the Infinity Reference R12 sub to your post, it's on sale too for $170:

Is this better than the Klipsch 8000 FS speakers?
If you're asking better sounding wise, you would have to listen to both to find out because they sound very different.

If you can't you will have to gamble on one and hope you like them.

You are going to read a lot of opposing opinions.

Having listened to both, the 8000F's will be more dynamic but fairly bright sounding. They will give/handle more bass.

These may have a cleaner sound but more on the sterile/stale/lifeless side.

The 8000F's will be easier to run also.

Best thing to do is buy both and return the one that didn't sound better.

Do you own a pair?
I own the R263 fronts the RC263 center and RS152 surrounds and an Outlaw Audio sub. Been very happy with them, though I'll be down sizing my living arrangements soon and kind of wish I'd gone with the R253 fronts for that reason.

Is that statement a positive or a negative about it's performance overall? On the extreme, I'm sure there is a "best" sounding $20 speaker too.

Only piece I am missing is front speakers. Close to just going the Solstice DIY route and my finger has been on that trigger without pulling way too long.
If you're asking about the China comment, essentially any speaker under $1000 is made in Asia these days.

If you're referring to my value statement, audio gear has a nearly unlimited top end. There is always a better sounding speaker (in at least someones opinion) for more money, and you can spend over $100,000 on a speaker if you have the desire and your pockets are deep enough.

The only practical way to asses audio gear is to set a budget, or spending limit, and decide what sounds best to you within that limit. You would be hard pressed to find a better sounding speaker then these for $150 apiece.

I certainly wouldn't call these expensive but everyone has their own opinion of value. The nice thing about this deal is you can send them back if you don't like them and it doesn't cost you anything but time.

I do agree, though, that having some way to listen to them during the preview period would be advantageous.

You're asking if a speaker that costs $750 sounds better then one that costs $150? At that point I would have to agree with Rob, get them both and keep the one you like.

Just because he wants a "decent AVR" doesn't mean he doesn't already have one or have heard these speakers. Not to mention the same point that others have listed about free returns. Why hassle the guy because he bought them on sale instead of waiting until he could hear them in person and missing out on the deal? Like you said, it's not your money

No one frequenting SD would buy a speaker at its standard retail price so the Klipsch 8000 can be bought for a much cheaper price. The question was which sounded better, and I got the answer.

Any experience with the REFERENCE SUB R12? It's also still on sale for $169. I've seen it lower but didn't pull the trigger due to lack of reviews. It seems like everything they make is quality
