My dad's ill and always calls my mom to turn on his portable heater in his room before he goes home from dialysis. I bought these around a year ago, and taught him how to turn off and on his heater and his kasa light bulb. Really good product, I would like some more of these, but I am not in need. ill wait for a better deal.

This is a super good and thoughtful use for these. Makes me happy when things are used like this, thanks for sharing 😊

Great product! I bought the four pack several months ago for around $21 when it was on sale. Not the best price at the moment, but the product itself works very well.

After getting the KP115 deal from woot that monitor power consumption no way I can go back to this less smart model.

Pretty good deal though if you have a few things you want to turn on/off remotely

A word of caution to those using Home Assistant or Homebridge, or any other solution that relies on an open API for local network only usage: TP-Link is threatening to kill off the local API (currently only handing it out via twitter with a "beta firmware"), and has already done away with it for their older plugs and devices.

If you plan on using these in a non-cloud manner, look elsewhere. The track record is not good. If you're an alexa/assistant user, carry on in the cloud, nothing to see here.
What brand/device do you recommend as an alternative

Thanks for posting this. I am new to smart plugs. These are 2.4 GHz wifi devices. If I plan to control via my Android phone does it matter if my phone uses a 5GHz connection to my wifi? Or, does this only matter when I first set up the device(s)?

I think your plugs connect to the wifi and your phone independently connects to the wifi. Each talk to a middle layer (sometimes a website, to make the interactions happen. To summarize, this is not an issue.
