Not the best price but pretty decent and I have an immediate need for these. These are also the mini plugs which should work in a few places where the old kasa plugs were just a touch too big.

Bought these on the last deal with a bit of trepidation but I was very impressed at how handy these are. My favorite feature is that they automatically can change the on time of lights to coincide with sundown time as it changes. No more constantly monkeying around with changing the on times of my old plug in timers trying to get them to go on close to sundown.

Genuine question... doesn't the Kasa app still limit you to having only 3 actions enabled at once? Accordingly, isn't a four-pack of devices pointless? Or am I missing something?

A word of caution to those using Home Assistant or Homebridge, or any other solution that relies on an open API for local network only usage: TP-Link is threatening to kill off the local API (currently only handing it out via twitter with a "beta firmware"), and has already done away with it for their older plugs and devices.

If you plan on using these in a non-cloud manner, look elsewhere. The track record is not good. If you're an alexa/assistant user, carry on in the cloud, nothing to see here.

You could not pay me to use TP link smart home devices after they purposefully released a firmware update to kill interoperability with smart home platforms such as Home Assistant. Shelly devices ftw!

I believe what you speak of only applies to UK/EU devices. I have 20+ Kasa devices on my US-based Home Assistant setup, all in local-only mode using the API. Some older, some just purchased 2 weeks ago, all running the most current firmware. They work great! Not to say TP-Link won't do what you're claiming, but it hasn't happened yet. Even if they do, the current local mode will work forever so long as I don't upgrade firmware, which is actually more future-proof then depending on cloud-based solutions which depend on their good will to keep the servers up and "free."

Smart Actions are still limited to three. But even if you have additional devices, you can control through the app, widgets or similar, link G Home, Alexa etc devices & shout at them, or automate through a hub like SmartThings (on/off by temp, time, other devices…).
Each individual plug you can manually set timers, or schedule sunset/sunrise +-x

Wasn't sure about this model "EP10" compared to the "HS10" model. These are TPLink's newer model that can handle a bit more powerful devices and are UL certified:
