... because the "GameStop" credit can be used to purchase PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam, or many other gift-cards right off the GameStop website.

Where does it say anything about "20% off?" I'm only seeing "20% bonus when you buy a $50 gift card."

I haven't tried with Lowe's or GameStop but would love to hear from those that have / and also I will try myself and report back hopefully the credit trick still works

Thumbs up to the OP! I never seem to know when Kroger runs deals like this, and GameStop allows purchase of both their credit and/or online-marketplace credit (PSN, Xbox, Steam, Nintendo, etc), so this is one of the few ways remaining to get digital-marketplace currency @ 16% off when you go to the B&M store to get yourself or give to someone a tangible gift / gift-card.

A few notable tips occurred to me that I thought I'd share for this SlickDeal(tm) and/or future Happy card SD's down the road ...

1. The retailer processes these Happy cards EXACTLY like a non-reloadable credit card, with the only stipulation that the retailer knows the first 4 digits belong to "Blackhawk", so they're allowed to be processed as a CC & not go through Visa/MC/Discover's own validation.
2. If you have an item requiring more funds than will fit on the Happy card, so you have to use a 2nd CC, you'll need to either call & place your order online, or go to the B&M store for the split transaction.
3. With stores like GameStop, if you have enough credit on your store account and/or gift-card for the remainder, the website will ALWAYS deduct from the gift-card first, so again, you'll need to go to the B&M store to handle the split transaction.
4. If you're stumped about what to get @ GameStop (amongst the 6 or so chains listed), I recommend getting GameStop and/or digital-marketplace currency, so that "an even dollar amount" is deducted, and you don't end up with "uneven" or "small" amounts remaining (due to sales tax, prices ending with ".99", etc), and thus you might feel like throwing it away.
5. Purchasing digital-marketplace currency (PSN, Xbox, etc) requires some pre-planning, especially when it's a $25 Happy card, because some digital-marketplace currency may only come in $10/$20/$50 increments, leaving $5 left over. To use that last $5 with GameStop's website, you'll either purchase $5 of GameStop credit with the $5 remaining, so you can combine it with another Happy card's remaining $5 to purchase $10 of PSN ... or once again, go to the B&M store to handle the split transaction.
6. And lastly, if you're a member of GameStop's PUR program, and get a $5 coupon code to use each month, go to the B&M store to use this credit, because often the B&M store will gladly apply the $5 coupon to your digital-marketplace currency purchase (whereas the website doesn't let you do this).
