Great sign on bonus for internet service, but the coverage of AT&T fiber is painful, none of my address have its service.

And we call ourselves a developed nation...
You just live in undeveloped part of it. 😉
I also had the box on wall to get fiber now tech cam out and put new modem with fiber directly into it.
Also be careful so they don't sign you up for the tv. Direct tv stream. I signed up and the price went from 40 to 95 in one year and they tell me it under contract for another 12 months. What to do?
Does anyone have insights whether they'll restart their fiber rollout again?
I go literally 1 block away and 1000 AT&T Fiber is available for $45/mo. Go 1 block the other way and my same 25 plan is available for $40. The reason? They have Xfinity available so AT&T is forced to have competitive pricing.
Xfinity refuses to service our neighborhood because "you're too far out in the country" even though I can literally stand in my yard and throw rocks at houses I know have Xfinity.
I've called AT&T numerous times and I'm always told "fiber will be available in a few weeks". It's been years. They also refuse to lower my bill because frankly they have no competition and know I have no other options for internet (no WISP service available and T-Mo doesn't have close enough tower for a reliable 5g connection).
On the Starlink list, but given I'm in a metro area I doubt it'll be rolled out to me anytime soon since they're focusing on rural customers.
My city leaders are of no help either since 25mbps is the bare minimum to meet the "high speed internet" definition so it meets the city's requirements that AT&T (or any other ISP) is required to provide with their exclusivity contract with the city.
I paid $50 instead of the $45 and it triggered the email stating I used the offer.

So although a gigabit plan is 125 megabytes per second (not megabits) - that other poster is confused about what ISP's offer, as no one is advertising 1 gigabyte per second. That would be 8 times faster than current gigabit service.
Also, Netflix 4K streams use about 25Mbps, which is 40 times less than peak speeds on gigabit service.
THANK YOU
