Great sign on bonus for internet service, but the coverage of AT&T fiber is painful, none of my address have its service.

xfinity is quoting me 25/month for just 50 mbps. they are saying im not eligible for the VGC unless i sign up for mobile. $100 installation fee. 14/month rental for modem .
att is quoting me 55 a month. no installation, no charge for modem. i believe i am eligible for the additional gift card.
im really just looking for cheaper internet in the long run.

they require installation fee of 100, and mobile service of 15/month. whereas att doesnt. not sure which i would benefit in the long run. trying to see how much xfinity would charge me after the promotion period
Went through R A K U T E N for $75 CB.
Ordered the 300Mbps: There's the standard $200 GC and there was a $50 (code HOLIDAY50). I tried to add code ACTNOW but it didn't go through. The order was in my cart, I walked away for like 15 minutes opened up another browser and went through the order again but it retrieved my existing order in the cart, then all of a sudden the "ACTNOW" offer popped up and I clicked to accept it, so it added $150 GC to my cart for a total of ($200 + $50 + $150) $400. I used my American Express as there's a $50 credit for spending $50 on AT&T DSL offer. My installation appointment is next Friday. My Spectrum broadband (was $45, then $50, then $65 for new customer (I call each year to get the deal)) went up to $75/mo so I want to try DSL finally. My neighbors got theirs and said it was fast. Worst case, the GC and CB should pay for over 8 months of service and I'll come back to Spectrum with a new subscriber deal if I don't like it. I can also try T-Mobile Home Intenet for $50 if nothing works out. I'm getting over 300Mbps on my 5G phone

This is a huge YMMV, as I think only one city in the nation has att fiber.
