I just the cut the cord this month. Had a triple play package that was like $165/month. Not terrible for all the premium channels and the 1gbps internet. But add all the BS fees like regional sports fee of 14.49 (i don't even watch that garbage), 19.99 broadcast TV fee, HD fee (they don't even make non HD tvs anymore!) boxes for bedrooms, taxes, etc it was like $270 a month!
Signed up just for internet in someone elses name/card for 1 year, 500mbps which is plenty, Free equipment rental, $49.99/month. A basic antenna is $20-50 for broadcast. Have prime. HBO max is like 10 bucks. and I did just buy a couple 12tb hard drives to make a plex server.

The thing with Plex is finding a friend who also has it so you guys can share libraries with each other.
