Lol @ "changing hardware." No, it's called a bait and switch. They are outright lying about performance in the name of being cheap.

I just installed the 1TB WD SN550, I could not get the Acronis software to detect my WD drive.

So be aware that may be an issue if you are planning on cloning your drive to this nvme drive. I am currently cloning using clonezilla. Hopefully I dont jack it up.

Just go to the reviews. This is still quite fast. Of course it is not as fast as the WD Black.

You are going based on a story where what the guy was doing should have been done on a WD Black but he found out not much difference originally between the Blue and the Black so he cheaply was buying the Blue. He overworked the Blue and it slowed down.

If you are doing a whole lot of video editing or other work rewriting the memory a lot buy the WD Black.

No matter what you buy they are constantly changing the parts it is made of. This is not Bait and Switch. Blue was always sold as inferior to Black. It just was originally not that much inferior. Now if you overwork it it is.

Look at the reviews people get great performance from the WD Blue.

But if you want the Black they have it on sale now for $54.99 just $9 more.
