  • About this deal:
    • These TVs are 22-25% off list prices.
  • About this product:
    • 4.7 out of 5 stars rating at Amazon
    • Rtings gives the Sony A80J series TVs a rating of 8.8 for Mixed Usage:
      • "The Sony A80J is an excellent TV for mixed usage. It performs well in dark rooms, whether gaming or watching movies, thanks to its near-infinite contrast ratio. It also has a nearly instantaneous response time, so motion looks clear in fast-moving content like sports or video games. It doesn't get overly bright for HDR, but HDR content still looks amazing due to its OLED panel and wide color gamut."

Why is the 55" model not on sale as well? Geez, not everyone has the space for the larger sizes.

Is the 65" still panel lottery, or they all come with the new Evo panel now?
Lottery but Sony is supposed to be a little better, or luckier I guess, lol. I'd get it from somewhere that has relatively easy returns like Costco.

Probably the most comprehensive comparison between the two:

This TV is very similar to the LG C series OLED. LG comes with two more HDMI 2.1 ports and VRR. Although I believe Sony said VRR would come to this TV in a future software update.

Thumbs up OP!
As a 900H owner, I'm not sure I trust Sony to deliver anything in a future update.

Strange thing is that I went to the store today morning and price was still $3499. May be online only at Costco. I am in VA.

The 77" A80J and the A90j all use the EVO panel. The smaller A80J are panel lottery however. Sony apparently screens the panels better than LG does, according to Value Electronics/ Robert Zohn.

I'm so torn on what to do. The a80j 77" is such a big jump in price for 65". Anyone else waiting for tcl R646 75" at $1600-$1700. It's not on sale yet at Best Buy. If it has good viewing angles it might be perfect for my living room to watch football and movies at night. Is a80j oled $1,400~ better
