No its dotdot for atmos. The ear level channels and height channels are interchangable, but the subwooofer ones are not. So 7.2 is seven channels (either ear level or height) and 2 subwoofer channels (really its just 1 split..but its marketing to call it .2). So this receiver can do 5.2.2 or 7.2.0. it cannot support 5.1.4 or 7.1.4 (5.1.4 would require a 9.1 receiver, and 7.1.4 would be an 11.1 channel receiver...those exist..but not in this price range).

That's not how it works. People act like they're suddenly entitled to some to something when they pay the tiny annual fee (are you really of the mindset that the pitiful $60 actually covers the loss here?). Do you also act like you can intentionally wreck your cars because you pay for insurance?

If his device had broken 5 months ago and he returned it, that's one thing. But, to go and return it because there's suddenly a different device? "Come on, man." It's literally the reason why they changed the unlimited return policy to 90 days for electronics, because people were grossly taking advantage of it.

Also no analog out other then the two subwoofer outputs, I need AO to send signal to multichannel amplifier to power 3 other zones.
Same thought here, this is kinda an entry level receiver and it won't work well without an external amp if you have nice speakers

Can I get some education regarding the ATMOS speaker hook up? I currently have an old Onkyo SR505 which I uses 5.1 setup, and I also have a pair of spare speakers laying around.
If I switch to this one, is there a way for me to add the spar speakers as the ceiling firing set, or I need to get a complete new set of ATMOS speakers? By looking at the back of the 760, I didn't see a separate set of input for the ceiling firing speakers.
I know it is not ideal use different set of speakers for the ATMOS, but just want to check if it works.

The two remaining speaker connections after you connect your 5.1 setup can be set to either rear surround, front height, or Atmos channels. There may be a few other options I'm forgetting.

I see, so they are configurable. Thank you!

If you bought it from Costco, I think the return limit for electronic devices is 90 days.

Luckily I have two theater setups, one for gaming and one for just music/movies/TV, so the TSR-700 will stay in the non-gaming setup. The Yammy actually sounds really great (this is coming from a Denon guy).

S750H was a year old at that point (it was a 2019 receiver going for $320 in 2020). This is a 2021 receiver fresh off the production line. Might be $320 next year, who knows?

Also, need to consider the supply chain MESS right now. Call it inflation if you want, but it's mostly justified due to supply chain constraints.

IFYI, all my previous Denon receivers use decibels.
Is this normal?
I have an x3300, and you can choose between decibels and 0-100 scale for volume display. I am *guessing* that's also an option on this model.

Grabbed one and made a unboxing video on YouTube. Replaced my week old s750h with it.

I didn't realize the s750 was a 2019 model. Not up to date on denon's product life cycles. The s750 is running well here for my basic needs.

It'll be interesting to see where electronics prices go in the next 1-6 months. Will there be the usual BF deals. PC video cards are still hard to come by.
