No its dotdot for atmos. The ear level channels and height channels are interchangable, but the subwooofer ones are not. So 7.2 is seven channels (either ear level or height) and 2 subwoofer channels (really its just 1 split..but its marketing to call it .2). So this receiver can do 5.2.2 or 7.2.0. it cannot support 5.1.4 or 7.1.4 (5.1.4 would require a 9.1 receiver, and 7.1.4 would be an 11.1 channel receiver...those exist..but not in this price range).

Damn. I bought my 750h 5 months ago. I cooooould return it. But that's kind of a dick move for a perfectly working item

That's not how it works. People act like they're suddenly entitled to some to something when they pay the tiny annual fee (are you really of the mindset that the pitiful $60 actually covers the loss here?). Do you also act like you can intentionally wreck your cars because you pay for insurance?

If his device had broken 5 months ago and he returned it, that's one thing. But, to go and return it because there's suddenly a different device? "Come on, man." It's literally the reason why they changed the unlimited return policy to 90 days for electronics, because people were grossly taking advantage of it.

why do people still buy AVR? most of the time a soundbar should work just fine. there's no need to have a centralized switcher anymore since streaming players have been integrated into TVs.

for serious audiophiles, a low end AVR won't match their speakers either...

Sorry to hear. I had an electronics shop look at the 920w when it was occasionally doing it and all readings with meter were fine. It basically did this off and on for 9 months. I threw my Onkyo in the setup and worked fine so I know it was not speaker setup. If you get one event, don't chance it while under warranty. Costco confirmed their policy of 90 days electronics.
There is no 90 day limit on return for AVR. Wrong information!

Electronics: Costco will accept returns within 90 days (from the date the member received the merchandise) for Televisions, Projectors, Major Appliances (refrigerators above 10 cu. ft., freezers, ranges, cooktops, over-the-range microwaves, dishwashers, water heaters, washers and dryers), Computers, Touchscreen Tablets, Smart Watches, Cameras, Aerial Cameras (drones), Camcorders, MP3 players and Cellular Phones (return details will vary by carrier service contract).

I bought my Yamaha TSR-700 from Costco last December. I had no issues at all returning it Saturday.
I am glad I still had the box. One of the things they checked for was making sure the serial# on the device matched the serial# on the box.

Returned my TSR-700 for this.

For those wondering which is better, id say the Denon overall, but there are things Yamaha does better. Note: I am not an receiver enthusiast and rely on the built in tools (Ypao and Audyssey) to configure the system with very minor manual correction (setting everything to small, crossover to 80, etc).

The Yamaha sounds better with music, things just sound more alive and full. But the Denon sounds better with movies, tv, and gaming. I think the Denon does a better job with surround sound content because Audyssey seems better, my surrounds and bass sound more integrated into the room and with Atmos I actually get that "bubble of sound" experience that i never really noticed with the Yamaha. Im sure you can get the Yamaha to do that, but i never did with Ypao.

The Denon phone app has the whole setup menu in it, then the Heos app does streaming. The Denon app is better than MusicCast in terms of AV management, but i do like MusicCast more for streaming over the Heos app. I've had the Heos app crash a few time on android already.

The Yamaha turned on faster on cold boot (via CEC instruction), but i always got ~5 seconds of silence after unpausing internal LG apps via eARC. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN WITH THE DENON!!!! this is huge for me, that silence was utterly infuriating and i was always playing with the rewind on streaming services to hear the whole thing.

And finally of course, the Denon actually has real HDMI 2.1.

So anyone on the fence...if you're using this mostly for tv/movies/gaming I think you'll have a better experience with the Denon, but if you're mostly music focused you might wanna stick with the Yamaha until more options emerge.

can I use something like this for whole home audio? Possible to pass the same signal to all speakers instead of F/R etc?

Anyone have issues trying to connect their firestick 4k directly to the S760H in 2160p? Mine won't play video unless it's directly connected to the TV. I did notice it will play video if the stick settings are 1080p and directly connected to the AVR.
No problems for me. I have it plugged into the streamer HDMI port on the receiver.

Costco stores have received new models of the Denon AVR-S760H, which apparently replaces the S750H. I purchased one this morning for $440. Costco item number 3360461.

Notably, testing has shown that these units have fully functional HDMI 2.1, including full support for Xbox Series X and PS5 at 4k 120hz. 8k, 7.2CH., 75W, Dolby Atmos, HEOS, Bluetooth, 6 HDMI inputs, typical other inputs/outputs.

There is no online link because it is not listed on the costco.com website yet, nor has Denon published any documentation on them.

However, they are real, in stock, and the best value in AVR's right now.

What makes this a Slickdeal is the fact that they are in stock (during the chip shortage), at a reasonable non-inflated price, and they are quality for the HDMI 2.1.

Read more here: https://www.avsforum.com/threads/...h.3218301/

Alternatively, the factory refurbished AVR-S960H-R is on sale at Denon.com for $550:
https://www.denon.com/en-us/produ...vr-s960h-r

The AVR-S960H-R has 90W and may have the older HDMI chipset, unsure. Also, the 960 appears to have component input and a second HDMI output.

Now if someone can help me find a reasonably priced Xbox Series X, my home theater will be complete!

Title of this post need to be corrected. Title says 8k but this item is only 4k

If I understand correctly, 7.2 only has two channels for sounds above and 9.2 has 4. Don't most people want sounds from above to move left to right and front to back? Having only 2 channels from above seems undesirable and unrealistic, no? Fry's used to have killer deals on Denon 9.2 receivers. So bummed they shut down…
Totally wrong, delete this nonsense you're confusing people. The .2 means you can run 2 subwoofers, just like the .1 means one subwoofer. Oofff.

This is simply not true. The 90 day return policy applies to TV's and computers not all electronic devices. Almost all other electronics including receivers and even game consoles can be returned under the general "forever" policy.
Do they accept returns if membership expired?

I picked one up in Ringgold, GA. They had 8 left where I grabbed one.

Does this receiver support using a phone app for setup? If so, anyone got a link to the iOS version?
Thanks!
