I can't believe they are still selling these under $200, and even dropping the price a little bit with the current freight situations.

My .02 if you are looking, just buy it now.

THUMBS DOWN due to crappy sd rebate NOBODY will ever get! I'm still waiting for a sd rebate from April.... and YES, I opened a case. NOBODY at sd seems to want to prod Verizon along. I sent a formal complaint letter to Verizon corporate marketing division... will that gain any traction? who knows.... All I can say is JUST SAY NO to anything with SD rebate!!!!!!!

EDIT: I saved myself the hassle, opened a new browser, typed in the website and found them myself and bought 4 towers and 1 sub. ,,i,,
Whew. Deep breaths.

Opinions: Duals of these, or a single Monoprice Monolith 15"? Room is 20'X30' backing to atrium stairs, so it's a large room to fill.

I think I know the answer, just curious on others thoughts.

I have one of these, bought about 6 mos ago. Its okay, but gets boomy real quick. I keep turning it down to where its not doing much. I have an even cheaper JBL 10" that I think sounds better and doesn't get boomy and rattley.

I was hoping the RC263 center would be listed in here too. Hopefully it gets listed soon.

Anyone know how this compares with the Klipsch Costco deal? Got this but window still open to return.

TLDR; Spend the $ on a better sub like the Monolith, Speedwoofer, or SVS.

I had the JBL ES150P, which was my 1st halfway decent sub until it went out 2 months ago. Started looking into quality subs around the $400 mark and was surprised at what people were saying about the difference in sound quality and depth.

I looked at this Infinity as well as the JBL 500P(?) that's been on the list on and off. Due to space constraints, I went with the RSL Speedwoofer 10S, but would've gotten the Monolith or SVS PB-1000 Pro.

The things I can hear with the Speedwoofer are nothing short of astonishing. There are parts of songs, explosions in movies, etc that I didn't know existed. The bass is tighter and more solid than I've experience in a budget home theater setup. The gain is under 1/2 and the sub is set at -4 after room calibration.

Personally, if that's an option, I'd recommend you buy the Monoprice and just run a single sub until you could afford a second. A single Monolith will "fill" the room with bass. The point of running a multi subwoofer layout has more to do with evening out modal issues than trying to blow the windows out.

I say pass on the Infinity as someone running two Infinity Interlude IL60s with their 500W 12" subwoofers integrated into the towers.

The Infinity subwoofers are very cheap to produce. What made them special is that Infinity was good about coming up with technology like the C.M.M.D. woofers that were light and easily driven. Those were important characteristics for the Infinity towers (e.g. Prelude, Interlude, Alpha, etc.), but as a dedicated subwoofer, there's no reason to not go more robust.

The Monoprice Monoliths on the other hand are real deal subwoofers that will get down flat under 20Hz. The 13" and 16" models will get down flat to 15Hz (that's infrasonic Earth-moving shit for movies). The Infinity isn't doing that. It barely reaches 30Hz at -3dB. That's fine for the B string on a bass guitar, and it will shake the house, but it isn't doing THX-like accuracy on movies.

I say this as someone running two Infinity Interlude IL60s with these same basic subwoofers integrated in to the towers.

These Infinity subwoofers can actually be purchased as just the speaker for about $80. They are cheap and have fairly small magnet structures. The whole thing that made them impressive was that they used a super light, but ridgid, cone that could be driven easily. This was very beneficial in the Infinity Prelude and later towers, but as a dedicated sub, they are mediocre. Amazing for the money, but mediocre compared to dedicated subs.

The Monoprice Monolith on the other hand is a real deal subwoofer that will get down flat under 20Hz. The Infinity isn't doing that. it barely reaches 30Hz at -3dB.
Yah, after I posted I saw this only goes down to 29Hz. No bueno…

Thanks for reaffirming my suspicions all! Now I just need that Monoprice to go back on sale!
