62db seems loud for a small portable closed frame inverter generator.

For example, this 2500W Champion is 53db:

Price and wattage seem pretty good though. Wish it was dual fuel.

Would be a good price for a duel fuel, parallel-capable generator, but not slick for a very basic gas-only unit.

thanks for the comments, folks. I think I'll hold out for a deal with more wattage.

great deal, you don't have to spend an extra 50 on a parallel box. This has it built in. You don't need dual-fuel, because part of being a man is using gasoline.

It looks like you need a parallel kit. This only supports being paralleled. Add $60-$80 for a kit if you want to parallel with a second unit.

It's louder than other options in my opinion. 62dB at 1/4 load at about 23ft away. As another mentioned, Champion inverters are quieter and near Honda levels. My champion is 53dB for comparison.

It boasts a 6 or 8 hr run time (depending on where you look) at 1/4 load. 6 is poor, 8 is ok but Champion was rated at 11 hrs on 1.1 gal, I got about 10 hrs. To be fair, my Champion is rated less at 1600/2000 so that may be a factor. From experience, I like one that can shoot for around 10 hours so it won't run out of gas in the middle.of the night.

Price is not bad as it's hard these days to find a known brand for a lot, 3 year warranty is a plus.

Actually real men run e85 but Teflon braided lines a stainless mesh filter and the rejet are going into roller rockers, aluminum rod and thinner head gasket territory where your gonna have to get the correct length pushrods etc. Don't ask me how I know

From the manual you need the optional "parallel operation kit." That's $83 on Amazon.

It's not a terrible deal but 63dB noise is high and 56.5lbs is heavy for this class making it not Slick.

Compare to the Wen 2250W/1800W rated (same continous rating as this one) at $385: https://wenproducts.com/collectio...l-shut-off
Same continuous power rating; 53dB noise; 48lbs.The parallel cable kit is $62 at Lowes.
I like the Wen 56235i at 1900Watts continuous rating, 39lbs and 51dB for $430.

Does seem high, bought a Westinghouse for $299 at Sam's about this time last year 52db and same running wattage.

Might come around again at that price, unless you are in a hurry.

Idk what this does but it's probably helpful. From the comments it's not a good deal, too loud and expensive?

Stuff is complicated. I'm done.

LoL then why do you need electricity? Just use gasoline... oh. I thought this was a Gas vs Electric car debate.

Don't let these SD'ers scare you. When it comes to Watt per $ its a good deal. You could use this to power your fridge or microwave even during a power outage. While 62db is not quite, it is also not loud. 60db is normal conversation level. My 7800W generator is 81-103db depending on load, that is loud. you wont notice this at all if you are inside a house.

I have two of these with about 175 hours each, and I think they're great for around this same price.

Try this link instead:

They have a Yamaha "clone" engine and include everything you need for parallel operation. 52db/51 lbs.
