This is a great deal especially with that 32GB ram, cyberpowerPC has the same laptop but with a faster 11800H(worse on battery life though) and a QHD 165hz display for 1670$(16GB ram too)
as an alternative.

Intel variant can be problematic though as this is a thin and light but doesn't have a big battery, which doesn't make too much sense. So you may want to go for the Ryzen variant instead

Good grief, a 125w 3070 with a mux switch and it's only 3.84 lbs! I think I might go into MC just to see it for myself.

This one looks like a great price and good config. I am not familiar at all with this manufacturer... anybody have experience?
I want a really strong Gaming laptop that has some decent battery length. I dont mind paying more - if it is worth it, but I have not see anything that seems like it is...
There is an i9 11th Gen with similar specs (except RTX 3800). It is like $2200+ but I am not sure if that is worth it or not.
Thoughts?
Thanks for all your input. Yes even the Dill that will give me crap for the question :-)

I do love my Asus G15 with the 3070. It can get 8+ hrs of battery when not gaming. I think it's only 100w to the GPU, but a gorgeous 1440p screen.

It's 85W fixed + up to 15W using dynamic boost and in most games which taxes both cpu and GPU, the power hardly goes over 90W to the GPU . You'll see a much bigger performance improvement if you buy this, almost Legion 5 pro level.

I actually bought one of these a couple weeks ago and absolutely love it so far. It's super light for the specs and performance is great. The battery issue is real though, I wonder if there is a way to replace it with slightly bigger or better quality battery? Not sure if that's a thing but this laptop would be worth doing it to. That and the fan noise during heavy workloads (including taxing games) are probably the two biggest drawbacks to otherwise an almost flawless laptop.

How does it manage heat? I'm sure it gets toasty, but where does the heat exit during heavy gaming?

From what I can tell it manages heat pretty well. I've noticed mostly the heat coming out from the sides

What issues could you have not ordering from one of the big manufacturers. I know you can get more and or better this way, but what are the pitfalls of buying a spec laptop?

I think the main issue wasn't quality control but more about the warranty. From what it seems with these models you have to go through Microcenter and not the manufacturer for any warranty issues. That could be a benefit for some, or a pitfall for others. Depending on how close you are to a MC.
