Stadia will be history in a year
Ah, this again. Pretty sure you kids have been saying it's about 2 years now, yet it keeps on growing in games, user base and adding more features regularly.

Simple, you almost never have to pay more than half price for PC games if you use sales, gray market, etc. You play even 20 games a year, that's 600 dollars every year you save over digital marketplaces that charge full price well past their demand. That's not including monthly fees.
There are a lot of problems with your math and assumptions here. It's possible that your specific scenario pans out to be cheaper with a PC rig, but I don't think that's the case for a majority of consumers. Twenty games seems steep for the average person with a job and social life, without even considering family/children. Also, it seems you didn't take into account that Stadia has sales regularly. And the Pro subscription is not mandatory to purchase and play games.

I would find it very difficult to build a realistic 5-10 year model where gaming on a PC is cheaper than gaming with Stadia (not taking into account game market size/quality).

Would someone who already received a controller free from another promo almost a year ago still be eligible for this offer?

Yes. Someone already posted their chat with a CSR and they confirmed it.

Man, been wanting to purchase Dirt 5 but been holding off until there is a sale. But now this promo gets me a Stadia Premiere edition with the purchase of the game. Decisions, decisions. I already got a Premiere edition for free from the YT Premium member promotion.

Why would anyone get this over Gamepass Ultimate?

They are apples and oranges in their services, for the most part. Gamepass is a monthly sub that gives you access to certain games that are in rotation for that service. Stadia is a game console, but online and free. You buy games and keep them like you would with a console. There is no monthly sub required, even for online play. Stadia does have a Pro sub that gives you access to 50 or so games, more if you signed up earlier. But that service is not required to play your games.

Uh, it's a digital game, how exactly are you going to do that? And it's a digital game that only works with Stadia, at that.
You make a new Gmail account:

[email protected]

Order the game, beat it, sell the Gmail account for $30.

Keep the hardware.

Done.

I used to create a separate stem account and email for each digital game so I could have resale value.

I bought it early this year when it had the cyberpunk + stadia premier edition. Not sure now but Zombie Army 4 non-deluxe was free. It is a streaming game so ping is pretty slow so I would not play anything multiplayer competitive (single player game should be good enough though). But at the end, the game did not matter that much for me. The chromecast ultra on your TV + Netflix and the premium controller for your pc or old nintendo games was worth it.
The controller doesn't work as a remote for other apps on Chromecast, correct?

Does Chromecast have an actual home page and menus yet?

Can it run any Android apps?

I still don't understand Chromecast. It's a device with OS but without any user interface or apps. Or does it now?

We have a bunch in every conf room of our office and no one uses them for anything. Just screensaver with flowers lol

Haven't played any MMO or RTS games, mostly games by myself and kids on Tmobile home internet. There are times when it's laggy and pixellated, but since I'm playing by myself, I'm not too worried about it. This is playing on a PC/Mac/Chromebook or TV, all about the same performance. Actually I was really surprised playing on the chromebook. I'll probably get in on this deal as I need another controller
This is cool and weird. So controller directly connected to the internet, not to the Chromecast, so no matter which device I play on, tv, PC, phone, anything, there is no pairing like Bluetooth. Genius!

What's the most valuable game? FC6? And are these steam games or are they tied to stadia?

I got the cyberpunk deal and I disagree. Never had a lag problem, smooth as butter. The game library sucks right now but this is still a good deal.
It ran well for me but the graphics seemed pretty bad, could just be the game itself though.

Have both next gen consoles and tried stadia due to a free premier edition. If you don't want hunt down a next gen console and have great internet it works well. Haters be damned. Support is iffy though and ports don't seem too far ahead of Xbox one x versions of games alot of the time. Usually lacking compared. To series x/ ps5.
