Just the opposite. The Pegasus was the original logo/company. Most people are just used to seeing the premium brand mobil 1. Yes mobil 1 syn is better than mobil syn, i didnt even know mobil had a syn...

I guess some may not want to deal with a rebate....
But Mobil 1 is cheaper and better with rebate.

I'm sorry I have a tuned supercharged engine that I redline on almost a daily basis. I need mobil 1 every 5k miles and a wix filter so my motor lasts. To each his own but to me mobil 1 has given me proven reliability.
why are you redlining it everyday?

I run and like using the Costco full synthetic oil. It's made by warren and test out to be some of the best budget priced oils.

There is no reason to waste money on Mobil 1. Unless it's on sale for cheap.
Just get any Full Synthetic oil brand that match with your car specs.

I'd say a wrench that's the correct size for your car and a couple ramps, so probably $50 or so

The real question is if you have a sports car, why wouldn't you redline it every day?
That's the best way to prevent valve deposits because the super high forces of redline RPM will instantly chip off any build up lol!
Also commonly referred to as "The Ferarri Tune Up".

So I'll give you a real answer, it's about 25$ regularly for synthetic oil 5qt. Then you need the oil filter. (I use K&N high performance) that's about $12-15$. You may also need a jack unless you can squeeze under the car without one. A reusable oil tray container, 13-15$ & some rubber gloves (2/3$) as well as a wrench & oil filter ripperoff'r. $10-20 for both of those. After you have all the maintenance stuff, it's about $40 to replace your oil yourself. It's worth it in the end, I replace my oil every 3.5k miles. I don't drive a lot, I have a sportscar & redline a lot.

Thanks OP!
I just placed a pickup order for 4 x gallons.

I work in the auto industry and own sports cars where I can recommend the following:

- Any full synthetic brand is fine
- Buy your appropriate mfc. engine weight
- Filter change is more important as it won't outlast oil breakdown
- Change regularly 4-5k miles

Personally I don't trust anyone to wrench on my car, especially low skilled people at those oil change shops.
Sure it's convenient, but at least I know I'm taking care of my cars!

Any comments regarding you're do for an oil change in 700 miles. Take a freeway 700 mile trip, upon completion as the engine is hot, drain it and put in new oil filter.

Does it make any difference letting the car sit for two days AND then do the oil change?
