i bought into this offer last month. ported my number online with no issues
regular att mvno. nothing special AND definitely no app business.

on the downside my phone did not auto provision for data , entered settings from the website and was ok since then...

wish i could use this offer to extend my service..

Porting is usually the trickiest part when switching carriers, regardless if they are the big three or MVNOs. I am glad yours went quickly. We switched our numbers to google voice a couple of years ago. No more porting and we just go with whoever is cheapest, if they have good coverage in our area, at the end of the 3 or 6 or 12 month term. Also if you want to take advantage of port deals to get rebates or free phones just port the junk number that they gave you when you signed up over to the carrier that is offering the port deal.

always wanted to do google voice for my main number to avoid the risk of porting so many times to take advantage of the "deals"

i am assuming you forward your google voice calls to your temp. number and for outgoing use the google voice app.

what about messaging? any other issues?

So $20 will give you a total 3Gb, valid for three months.

I have used this service when it was on sale at target for $15.
