I actually just filed a warranty claim on the clock, after about 11 months one of the LED's on the display died. It makes the number 9 show as a 3. I'm fighting with their customer service to get it fixed. Have spent over an hour on the phone with them over this stupid clock.
FYI, since Walmart's app update, they have removed the in store scanning function on clearance pricing; however, if you use Walmart + it will still scan the clearance price in store. Sneaky and dirty way to push people to +, but if you are a clearance hound, it is what it is.
SWEET! Brickseek was accurate.I found them for $17. Marked as clearance in the electronics department. There were 15 boxes on a shelf near the portable speakers section. I purchased 4 for Christmas presents.
Thanks! Had to try a 2nd store, but sure enough, in the Electronics section (but not behind the glass case where the other smart devices are) on a clearance area there was a dozen or so in Portland, OR 97230.
You're probably right, I was out running errands anyway and only stopped at 1 of the several WM's that Brickseek supposedly says they have in stock, not wasting my time/gas running to others.
I don't know what the "essential" part is, I guess it's the bundle name with same Lenovo Smart Clock. You can search SD and find another YMMV for just the clock at Home Depot for $20ish. Not as hot but doesn't matter if OOS.
Yep, it is and it can still be too bright for some people , like me. People have been doing mods to this thing by adding a red filter over the LEDs to make it less distracting at night
I got this recently and just returned it. The "hey Google" voice recognition was horrible on this essential clock. Had to practically yell. I have 6 x Google minis and a single home and I can talk in a normal voice level to activate hey Google. Maybe I got a lemon. Ymmv.
Picked up a couple Google hubs on Slickdeals and much happier.
I grabbed 3 last week for $10.00 each and also picked up a few of the regular Lenovo Smart Clocks for $20.00 each at Home Depot. I kinda prefer the Essential.
