Since some folks maybe confused: Ghost Recon (The original game) is free on PC....understand this game is probably 15 years old and is not Ghost Recon:Wildlands or Breakpoint, the two more recent GR games.

However, If you already OWN Ghost Recon:Wildlands, then one of the DLC packs is now available for free...and it looks like its free across multiple platforms.

But.....Ghost Recon Wildlands is NOT free....just one of the DLC's is.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Deep State Adventure – hasnt been mentioned yet. I guess I found an Easter egg navigating this ubisoft mess. Found in ubisoft app when going to the claimed Ghost Recon game and right clicking and going to news.

I liked Wildlands, pretty repetitive, but when the core gameplay is good, I don't mind that. Never bought the DLC, so that will be fun

While there are fun Ubisoft games, Uplay is garbage that should never be installed on any PC. In order to play some of their games, I've had to disable BIOS level security. With other games, they have to ping Ubisoft servers that are either overwhelmed or just so poorly maintained that the game stops to tell you that it needs a constant internet connection that it's unable to contact its servers. Well, I'm totally sick of it. The only time Ubisoft games consistently work is on a console. Don't buy it for PC.

StarLink is one, and there might be more. The always on internet connection for single player games is less forgivable.

Thank you for this! Very surprised to see Ubisoft do this and how they released a game with this kind of fix being required. They should have refunded everyone who demanded it or released a patch for it. Looks like they just abandoned it and just left the customers to do this workaround if they wanted to play. A shitty move. I love handful of games by Ubisoft and Blizzard and it sucks to see wrongdoings by these once very reputable companies who pumped out quality games.

Also, it seemed the fix for Starlink was to disable HW Virtualization in the BIOS. Not exactly security but nonetheless it needed to be disabled in order to play.

Dumb question, but Ghost Recon is the base game they require to buy the DLC. That's going to be free too, through some platform, correct?
