Pro tip: you can use the $5 monthly certificate on gift cards and Game cards too.

Xbox and E-shop gift cards are $5 minimum (they are on the site, the employee has to pull it up on the computer) while PSN minimum is $10. this means if you hate GameStop (like I do) you can go in just once a month get your free $5 game card and walk out without spending a penny. Great way to watch GameStop burn to the ground that much faster while you stockpile your eShop and Xbox accounts with tons of credit for future use.

I've been doing this for over a year since they started giving out the $5 every month.

$14.99 = membership with digital magazine issues. Cost is .62 per month.

$19.99 = membership with physical AND digital issues of the magazine. Cost is .83 per month.
Uh... no. $14.99÷12 months= $1.25/month. $19.99÷12 months= $1.67/month. I'm not saying it's a bad deal so much as I'm saying that's terrible math they're doing.

Just tried this online to see if I could, but it denies me the upgrade for an existing account. I'm now thinking I should upgrade my wife's account to double-dip on the $5/mo + the signing bonus. I honestly can't see any downside here since it pays for itself immediately and gets us $10/mo for free in total. Unless I'm mistaken, I don't see any limitations per household here.

For Sony/Nintendo/Steam cards, the lowest increment is $10. So you still have to pay $5 for it. Also, it's super easy to forget about these monthly coupons and let them expire.
Gotcha, not as good of a deal but still like getting 1/2 online games.

This is wrong. The lowest denomination game cards for Nintendo and Microsoft is $5 (the employee has to pull it up on the computer) and Sony is $10.

Ok. Thanks. I only get Sony PSN cards, so I wasn't sure.

If you don't use it you lose it. If you go in on the last day of the month you also lose it (it's happened to me a couple times already).

Thanks, I'm gonna do this too, then.

Can you pay for this using a gift card in store? Online doesn't seem to allow GC to pay for this.
I signed up online last time with Gc.

Any chance you know if your status says "inactive" on their end? I signed up in store this morning and the rep over the phone says my account shows as inactive.
