I just got off the phone with a customer service representative, apparently their rewards system is down right now
I wonder if it has anything to do with all of Facebook's services being down too.

Idk if this is true everywhere. In california, I've been getting $5 codes for "free" (i.e. completely covered) with my monthly credit for the past 3 months since the last time I got this promo.

The sign-up $5 welcome coupon did not work in store for the digital codes, but the normal monthly ones have been 3/3 so far. Idk about Sony/Steam, but I just go in and ask for the $5 nintendo points code thing and they ring it up no problem. No money needed.
I'm pretty sure California has a law that gift cards $5 or less can be redeemed for cash paid at any register where you would otherwise buy something. Only place in the nation tho afaik...

deanzelFor Sony/Nintendo/Steam cards, the lowest increment is $10. So you still have to pay $5 for it. Also, it's super easy to forget about these monthly coupons and let them expire.
Could be. These vouchers aren't gift cards though, so AFAIK they have no cash value. But California has a ton of consumer protections, so perhaps that is why. It wouldn't surprise me.

Quick update regarding my online upgrade that I did yesterday. I just refreshed my account on the app and it shows the 10,000 bonus points.

No updates on my account that I upgraded in store today. Still doesn't show that I'm pro on that account.

Any chance you know if your status says "inactive" on their end? I signed up in store this morning and the rep over the phone says my account shows as inactive.
I don't know for sure, the representative just said the system wasn't being extremely slow and wasn't working for her. She offered to escalate the issue, but I said I would just try tomorrow

$14.99 = membership with digital magazine issues. Cost is .62 per month.

$19.99 = membership with physical AND digital issues of the magazine. Cost is .83 per month.
The math checks out

Gamestop is shady! For many years now, I've been told by multiple employees that the reward points accumulate and do not expire. I find out today that since I didn't "use" my gamestop account for a year, that my points have expired. 23k points gone because I didn't feel like going to a gamestop in the last year, totally bogus! I tried calling and speaking to a supervisor but they won't help. The employee at the store TODAY didn't even know about this policy!

The $5 should be considered part of the monthly $5 that you get for 12 months. Another user stated those go out the first of every month. So technically we missed out.

I was under the impression that you would still get it no matter when you signed up in the month. I'll update if I get my $5 for October. I signed up online yesterday

So I just left my local GameStop and renewed my membership a month early and the store manager informed me of a couple of things for you guys:

1) $5 monthly certificate no longer expires (I think he said it now converts into 5000 points if you don't use it). Before if you don't use it you lost it, now that's no longer the case. This means you can just walk into GameStop once a year and get a free $60 game (or more during black friday) instead of being forced to go in every month for just $5. This is game changer!!!!!

2) You can use your points (and trade in credit) to renew your membership. you can't use the current month $5 certificate as I just tried and it failed but I was able to use the 10k points in my account which brought the membership down to $5 and then I just paid the $5 with my trade in store credit.

3) GameStop also sells $1 Xbox gift cards. this means if you want weird denomination like $6-$9 you can do it without having to fork over more than you want to. he told me Xbox is a little more flexible than Nintendo and Sony when it comes to that which is why they can do it. this means if you want a $6 Xbox card you can pay just $1 after using the $5 monthly certificate.

The membership is getting better overtime and yet the guy in front of me turned it down when it was offered to him (I was laughing inside so hard when he said no).
