Definitely not the best price for the tools alone, but with the batteries, it's not a bad deal. If you need batteries, then it makes sense.

Not bad if you're desperate for tools and batteries TODAY. But generally slick prices on batteries is $10 per amp hour. And since the tool prices are VERY non slick, the overall package is a wash.

Tools are at msrp, which is hard for a slick dealer to accept lol. Decent deal with the starter kit though.

If you're already in the market to buy some new bare tools though, getting 2 free 5mah batteries to go with it is a great deal.

I've been in the market to get that router and impact wrench, though the router is out of stock.

I was able to add 2 fans to my cart on pre-order, it added the batteries and I was able to go through checkout. I didn't purchase yet, seems to be working. FYI the two fans route doesn't qualify for free shipping since order comes to $198 ($199+ qualifies for free shipping). Looks like there are some $1+ filler items in clearance and hand tools

That depends on who you are. If this was 5 months ago when I bought my tools, I would have been all over this. If you're looking for a $5 Ryobi drill to pop up in the feed, then this wouldn't be a good deal for you.

Slick deals isn't about being a cheapskate, it's about getting value for your money and there is a good amount of value here for the right person.

Nobody said anything about being a cheap skate but " Not horrible is a far cry from a slick deal". A lot of people including you have lost the concept of "Slickdeals". I think you would be more comfortable at the sister website "Slightly Adequate Deals".
