I cashed out my discover cash back for the happy gift cards last year that had Lowe's and GameStop. If your plan is to try to convert to third party gift cards, I wouldn't recommend it. For Lowe's, all the stores around me in Chicago have simply stopped carrying third party gift cards. While on a trip to Bloomington, I stopped at a Lowe's with third party gift cards but the cashiers and manager would not let it me use the happy gift cards to buy them. I ended up using them to buy GameStop gift cards at a GameStop in hopes of buying an Xbox Series X. It's obviously pretty hard to liquidate a GameStop gift card. I'm sure others had easy experiences, but for anyone thinking to quickly convert these to Amazon gift cards it's seriously YMMV.

Depends on the location. The card specifically says that no gift card can be purchased, but some Lowe's employees don't check on them.

Please note that at my local Lowe's, gift cards can only be purchased at a manned register (i.e. no self-service kiosk).

Yes, and that's what makes these a good deal. These are run as credit gc's which Happy doesn't sell directly. I used over $500 last winter to buy Amazon GC at Lowes using the same method.

If you don't get it, my personal experience is that Discover is very responsive on the CS side, message or call them. They might tell you to wait another week or something (10 days is their verbage and those are probably business or USPS days so more like 2 weeks).

Required no extra effort, other than swiping my Happy Hollidays card. Check-out screen showed "Approving" for like 3 secs, then "Thank you for your business". I grabbed the receipt and 2 AMZ GCs and walked out back to my car. Quick and easy in & out.

And 2 AMZ GCs have loaded successfully to my AMZ

This is a regular prepaid VISA, same as NEWEGG would send as a rebate. Self checkout will not work if the transaction amount is more than the card balance. Use a full service checkout in that situation. You do not have to tell them the balance or anything, just swipe the card. The register will empty it and ask for the next payment method at this time you can use another card of your choice.

Thanks for the report. I'm so close to the $200 redemption level (like nickels away), but I guess I'll cash out some now in case the extra redemption discount will be gone soon.

I'm assuming SCO only works with fixed-amount GCs and not the variable kind?

Even if it requires a Lowe's staff to enter the desire amount for the variable GCs, I'd think Happy Hollidays cards will also work at self checkout as ordinary Visa / Master / Amex credit cards

I got mine and you no longer are able to use it to buy gift cards at Lowes. I tried yesterday and got denied. Self checkout will no longer let you check out and they will send you to either customer service or a manned check out line. Was told you can't use a gift card to buy gift cards. I told them this is not a gift card and it's run as a credit card, but still won't let me use it.

Try other Lowe's in your place. Those Happy cards are Visa credit cards. Check out photo in this post of mine

I've been buying giftcards using the Happy Holidays cards at the regular registers at Lowes, so far 4 times already. My local Lowes doesn't ask to see the card when I swipe it during checkout.
