Please note that at my local Lowe's, gift cards can only be purchased at a manned register (i.e. no self-service kiosk).

And is there a HomeDepot one?
Happy holidays on Website shows GameStop, but not grubhub. Slickdeal post says GrubHub, but not GameStop... Can anyone confirm if the Happy Holidays works at GrubHub

Yeah, I eventually will. Most of the slick deals you find online aren't usually found in store. Just warning others that this isn't like getting a lowes gift card that you can use online. It has to be in store, you have to tell the cashier to charge a specific amount to the card as 'credit' and then pay balance with another form of payment. Not the worst thing but it is not as simple as some of the happy cards deals. Still repp'd though 😀
I haven't had experience with making an online Lowe's purchase when the card balance is insufficient, though. That's probably a dead-end since there's no apparent way to split payment across more than one CC. However, in my Lowe's store I've found two consistent scenarios:
- At standard checkouts, if the Happy card balance isn't enough to cover the purchase, the remaining balance is applied to the purchase and you use another payment method.
- At self-checkout kiosks, if the Happy card balance isn't enough to cover the purchase, the payment is declined. Then you have to ask someone to suspend the transaction and transfer it to a standard checkout.
Just a couple weeks agoI drained two Happy Holidays cards, each with < $10 balance, in-store at regular checkout then used a third Happy Holidays card to pay for the remaining transaction amount. No issues. In-store receipts will show the remaining balance on the Happy card.
That's my experience, at least. Perhaps other stores are different.

My local Lowe's doesn't allow self-check-out for GC purchases though, so you still need to get an employee to process it.
