I cashed out my discover cash back for the happy gift cards last year that had Lowe's and GameStop. If your plan is to try to convert to third party gift cards, I wouldn't recommend it. For Lowe's, all the stores around me in Chicago have simply stopped carrying third party gift cards. While on a trip to Bloomington, I stopped at a Lowe's with third party gift cards but the cashiers and manager would not let it me use the happy gift cards to buy them. I ended up using them to buy GameStop gift cards at a GameStop in hopes of buying an Xbox Series X. It's obviously pretty hard to liquidate a GameStop gift card. I'm sure others had easy experiences, but for anyone thinking to quickly convert these to Amazon gift cards it's seriously YMMV.
Depends on the location. The card specifically says that no gift card can be purchased, but some Lowe's employees don't check on them.

Please note that at my local Lowe's, gift cards can only be purchased at a manned register (i.e. no self-service kiosk).
Yes, and that's what makes these a good deal. These are run as credit gc's which Happy doesn't sell directly. I used over $500 last winter to buy Amazon GC at Lowes using the same method.

I got mine and you no longer are able to use it to buy gift cards at Lowes. I tried yesterday and got denied. Self checkout will no longer let you check out and they will send you to either customer service or a manned check out line. Was told you can't use a gift card to buy gift cards. I told them this is not a gift card and it's run as a credit card, but still won't let me use it.
Don't show them the card when you're checking out.

"fun.Use the Happy Holidays gift card at any Macy's, Ulta Beauty, Chili's Grill & Bar, Red Lobster, Lowe's or GameStop location in the US."

Happy holidays on Website shows GameStop, but not grubhub. Slickdeal post says GrubHub, but not GameStop... Can anyone confirm if the Happy Holidays works at GrubHub

Got these GCs last time around and found out it only works 'in store' No way to use them online (I was trying to buying something at lowes). Such a headache and now it's just sitting in a drawer somewhere. These aren't the type of happy gift cards that you redeem on their site for a store branded card. Some funky cards

Yeah, I eventually will. Most of the slick deals you find online aren't usually found in store. Just warning others that this isn't like getting a lowes gift card that you can use online. It has to be in store, you have to tell the cashier to charge a specific amount to the card as 'credit' and then pay balance with another form of payment. Not the worst thing but it is not as simple as some of the happy cards deals. Still repp'd though 😀

You should be able to use Happy cards to make online purchases with Lowe's. Just enter the card # as a credit/debit card, along with expiration mo/year and CVV.

I haven't had experience with making an online Lowe's purchase when the card balance is insufficient, though. That's probably a dead-end since there's no apparent way to split payment across more than one CC. However, in my Lowe's store I've found two consistent scenarios:

- At standard checkouts, if the Happy card balance isn't enough to cover the purchase, the remaining balance is applied to the purchase and you use another payment method.
- At self-checkout kiosks, if the Happy card balance isn't enough to cover the purchase, the payment is declined. Then you have to ask someone to suspend the transaction and transfer it to a standard checkout.

Just a couple weeks agoI drained two Happy Holidays cards, each with < $10 balance, in-store at regular checkout then used a third Happy Holidays card to pay for the remaining transaction amount. No issues. In-store receipts will show the remaining balance on the Happy card.

That's my experience, at least. Perhaps other stores are different.

Just used the remaining $240 I had to get Amazon GCs. Cashier at self-checkout said cash or debit only, but I told I had just did it last week. Went through without a hitch from there. Even allowed me to use a Visa Cc for $10 to finish out last $50 GC.

My local Lowe's doesn't allow self-check-out for GC purchases though, so you still need to get an employee to process it.
