Depends. Here's a review that I found where the guy compares it to the Zephyrus.

I think that it looks better than the Zephyrus, looks like you can use it with screen closed and connected to an external monitor (Zephyrus can't), but quad core kinda turns me off.

Not even close, this Intel 4 core compared to the Ryzen 9 is just lame. Also, you CAN use the G14 closed. The CPU wattage goes to 25 watts but that's still results in great gameplay with an external monitor most certainly better suited to drive a 3060 low wattage than this 4 core Intel part.

Interesting... Making i7-11375H in hope for single core boost for super slim/thin rigs?
'Cos as 4 core CPU it didn't give significant any boost, if any at all, comparing to 10th gen...

I have it, and chose it over G14, Razers 13 and 15 inch, MSI GS, X1 Carbon g9. It's awesome, got 8TB ssd and 40GB of ram. I travel a lot, this is quite literally the only 14 inch laptop that takes double sided ssds, has 32+ GB ram, and has thunderbolt port.

Zephyrus is $250 more though. Worth it?

I've heard from everyone and reviewers that the screens have ghosting and reaction times are very slow, even at 120hz or even 144hz. Watch reviewers. They constantly complain about the screens.

This Acer has same screen, a little crappy, ghosting is visible even when you just move mouse pointer. I took g14 back because of keyboard and USB issues - essentially was unusable with any docking station I had.

I used the TUF with this same setup and that is not worth 1,150k or the performance you get, and got the 2021 G14 for a steal locally. So I'm not speaking from someone who spent 1.5k on it. I've only used the G14 screen for gaming for about 2 weeks(normally docked to a Omen 27i 1440p 165hz) I noticed little to no ghosting playing Warzone, Apex and Borderlands. I may not be sensitive to it and use about 10-15 gaming laptops per year. These 4 core i7 chips hold back even a low wattage 3060. You can only give reviewers so much credit aside from buying yourself and returning if needed. For example, Hardware Canucks doesn't even test laptops using the max performance mode or run fans at top speed, for ridiculous reasons. I've never used this Acer but the i7 low wattage 3060 mix is just not worth even 1k, much less 1.3K.

This has a webcam, g14 does not. Also g14 doesn't have keys for end home and pg down pg up. So if you need those, it might be a tough sale for g14.

edit: this also doesn't have those keys dedicated but hidden behind a fn key. Whereas g14 doesn't have them at all.

Acer also doesn't have those keys. Those additional keys are just media keys.

Thanks, didn't realize that. Do you know if this support usb c charging. That's one of the reason I bought g14 is to use the same charger around the house.

Wait you can charge that with USB-C? What wattage is your charger? Thanks!

Is it common for gaming laptop GPUs to not work with the lid closed (and external monitor)?
