The reward will be canceled bc its digital. The app adjusts your purchases if you return the items
EDIT: The last item in my order shipped and now it does qualify as my first of two purchases.

Seems hyper targeted if everyone is getting different offers.
I like Target but don't shop there often enough to justify that...
