Primary - Can play any digital game on the account without an internet connection and with any profile on the system.
Secondary - Can play any digital game on the account, but an internet connection is required to verify the game, and you can only play them using the profile that purchased them.
So you'd have your primary account on your kid's switch. This would let them play your games using their profiles. Then you'd have your account on your Switch as secondary, allowing you to play your game with your profile, assuming you have an internet connection.
This is what my partner and I do to share games. It's a bit of a pain if go on a trip, but at home, with internet always available, it works fine.
