Yes, switching family members, that don't need Windows, to Chromebooks will save you a ton of time. Switched my mother to a Chromebook 8 years and it worked out great. There's a very small learning curve but then you're good. Printing from a Chromebook is way easier these days then in the past. This is a decent deal for a 1080 15 incher and the N4000 is plenty snappy. I've had great luck with Acer Chromebooks including my original 2012 Acer C710 which is still working perfect.

Seems good to me. Yes, I am also tired of the Windows laptops. Chromebooks are a great alternative!

Good chrome book. Bought it last Xmas. Wanted a bigger screen but I wish I would of gone a bit smaller due to the weight.

Kind of new to Chromebooks so not familiar with specs, is the cpu/ram/storage decent for mainly web browsing? Celeron + 4gb in windows is almost unusable anymore so not sure how this holds up.

Can anyone help me with the target return policy on opened laptops/chromebooks? I see that any opened item cannot be returned but when checking the electronics section of the return policy I don't see anything about opened items for electronics.

If I buy this device and find out it can't do what I need (Run a specific android app). Then am I unable to return for a full refund?

Any help is appreciated.

For a chromebook the CPU/RAM is fine. Assuming you are keeping your tabs to a reasonable number you will have no issues. If you are trying to run 20+ tabs then you will most likely start to see the device slowing down alot.

Got one, OP Repped. was able to to stack the 10% code and 5% red card and out the door was $211.

Sometimes, I just want something to surf the web, pay bills, watch movies/read ebooks and the occasional meeting.
This'll be perfect for that. Plus I won't care if it gets a little ding or whatever later.

Has the important specs for this type of use, 1080p, IPS and touch screen. Smilie

The guys on facebook/craigslist are trying to sell used units for about the same price.

Do you recall how much you bought it for last Xmas?

What's the benefit of using a Chromebook?

This machine won't feel as slow as a netbook did in the past, but it doesn't appear that the experience with be that much different.

About the same raw throughput speed as an Intel dual core cpu (E8400) from 2008 - 12 year old performance. By today's performance standards this thing may be equivalent to people's experience with netbooks of the same 2008-2010 era - they worked for web browsing at the time, but didn't last long before their performance limitations became obvious.

The N4000 is about 1/3 the performance of a lowend 11th gen i5 in lightly threaded workloads. The Atom N270 of 2008 was about 1/4 the performance of the typical Intel dual core of 2008.

This machine is the netbook of 2021. For basic web browsing (social media, news, email, shopping), it's fine.
