I use this stuff mixed with black chalk line chalk to fill in voids in woodworking projects. It sands smooth and as long as you put finish over it, it turns inky black and slick. My kitchen table is made of rough sawn 8/4 walnut and it had some spots that I needed to fill (natural knot holes). I used this and its still totally fine 4+ years later. As for its actual intended purpose, I suppose its probably pretty good at that too.

Bought a bunch of stuff I don't need. Thanks.

It was the worst website I have seen in a long time.

Just saying, usually the 5 min. stuff is not as strong or waterproof as the long drying time one.

It depends the usage that you need, the longer drying time epoxies are stronger and waterproof. Does not look like Gorilla Glue has one, only the 5 min.

Thank you. I'll keep this in mind for future. I grab this and the gorilla steel weld someone mentioned above - seems like good values.

You sound like a smart fella, can you help me out with a baluster repair. It completely got detached, can I use such epoxy to fix it??

I'd probably personally be fine with using it for a baluster because a single unit individually isn't under a ton of structural stress and ideally wouldn'tbe taking a ton of abuse. A newel post or bannister, nah. But for a quick fix, it would be worth a shot. Either that or plain old Titebond wood glue is impressively strong as long as there is a decent amount of surface area for the glue to grab onto.
