Not knocking on the deal, I'm sure it's a great deal, but sheesh that's expensive for one toothbrush .

Thanks. Was looking to get 5300 version instead of 4100.

Have had DiamondClean for over a decade. They are good toothbrushes, but damn expensive.

Never heard of ProtectiveClean; is DiamondClean "better" than ProtectiveClean? Looks like Protective clean is roughly half price of DiamondClean. What is it "missing"?

6500 and 5300 are hard to find info on and may be amazon exclusives. The much more popular models are 6100 and 5100. It seems the brushes are the same and the only difference is 3 brush heads instead of 1 and for the 6500 a special USB travel case.

I've had various sonic models over 20 years. They are worth every penny and some. I always get compliments on my teeth and it's what's most dentist use.

No, Protective Clean is a lower tier. I've owned many Sonicares, currently have a DiamondClean 9700 -- got a really good deal on it when you consider the extra brushes that came with it. Ultimately though I think all the Sonicares are pretty much equal in cleaning effectiveness and you just have to do the math to see which model is actually the best value.

I don't use any of the gimmick modes the 9700 offers -- in fact my dentist warned me to not use the highest speed in "deep clean" mode because long term it does more damage to gums and the intensity just isn't necessary to remove daily plaque buildup. And the app, I used that for maybe a week, but found it awkward to use and not all that helpful. I think its true purpose is to sell more brushes and push marketing campaigns to you.

That said, the one feature I do love over the lower tier models is the charging cup. I love being able to just "drop" the toothbrush into the glass vs having to place it on the "bump" of the standard charger.

Also once you buy 1 diamond clean, upgrade is "cheap". The latest "handle" only is like $70

Where can you buy just a handle? Mine recently fell and rattles really loudly now.
