I'm between this, JBL charge 5, and Xtreme 3. Have you tried those?
Only tried JBL Xtreme 1 and 2. Battery on the 1 have up on me but sound was great.
The extreme 3 is going to be much louder and have more bass than the other options you mentioned, as it's a larger and more expensive
With that said the Sony xg500 is selling for $170 + tax from the same seller who is selling this speaker. The xg500 will destroy all the other options you mentioned, as it is a much larger speaker and is basically a clone of the JBL boombox.
It was only released a couple months ago and retailed for $450, and was considered a bad buy at that price as it doesn't sound quite as good as the boombox 2. With that said, it's an absolute bargain at 170, and I'm surprised the thread hasn't blown up on slick deals
The Onyx 6 sounds better, but has MUCH worse battery life. If that matters to you, then I'd return your Onyx and buy this.
With that said, you can buy XG500 for $170 shipped on another thread here from the same seller as this. It's a certified refurbished unit, has a 2 year warrenty.
It will completely destroy the Onyx models and the XB43.

That thing is a tank! Is the sound quality there for low volume listening or is it a better as a loud speaker?

Thanks. Are you sure it isn't $200? I'm seeing $200

Thanks for your reply. The coupon didn't work for some reason, but I'm thinking the XG May be too big for my needs (both size wise and I'm not sure how it would do at lower volume listening).
Most of my listening will be at lower volumes, like ambient levels when reading or something. How was the sound quality of the XB43 vs JBLs when at low if you recall?
That was the code I was talking about. It showed right up in the Ebay link when I was logged into my account. So I figured it would do the same for everyone else.

If all you need a speaker for is for low indoor listening, then you don't really need anything all that impressive. I'd just pickup one of the cheap smaller Anker speakers from Amazon for under $30.
I tried to let you guys on here know about the XG500, but no one else seemed to care. I don't think people realize how good of a deal it is at $170. It will crush anything under $250, and I'm surprised to see it on sale, considering how new it is.
