It doesn't need a hub! I've been using it for my apartment buzzer over a year now without the hub, but you have to be in bluetooth range though.

I have this.
Does NOT need a hub if used alone.
I use it to turn on/off the outdoor light over the garage door.

I learned the hard way that Location must be turned on my smartphone.
Their instructions don't say this.
I normally have Location off on my smartphone.

For the tech savvy, you can use an ESP32 to control this with mqtt without the official hub. I have one hooked up to by espresso maker and controlled via Home Assistant.

Wow such a great idea, I had some switches that I could not turn to smart switch due to wattage problems, this would be excellent if it wasn't $20. I guess I'll wait a little more..

Nice idea for garage door opener, better than getting remotes for every single car. Got an electric pump water heater too, nice to come back home with hot water when on a trip.

This is a good price, but understand that if you want it to work with Alexa et al. you will need the $39 hub.

I have one to use with portable ac in my grow tent. Totally worth it! I did buy the hub to control it while away from home.

um, wrap rubber band around computer mouse and device. set device to push button every 4 minutes. Now your boss will always think you're actually working while you're on the golf course. why do non of the reviews have this pictured?
