This is last year's model... Which is a pretty good model... I'm using that model now... It would be better to get the legion 5 pro (2021 model).. Should be around this same price on sale... You won't be disappointed
What are you talking about? Just because it uses same case and same display panel - it doesn't make it "last year's model", everything that matters like CPU, motherboard, all the chipset functionality and the GPU is completely different than last year's model. And no, it's not "better" to get Legion 5 Pro because not everyone wants the kind of display Pro has, some people may want a larger display with lower resolution. And you never know when Legion 5 Pro will reach same price at Lenovo's own site and will be available for shipping right after ordering it.

This or MSI leopard gp66?
MSI. A lot more bang for the buck and better customer service.

Not quite right there lol... Yes I'm referring to the pro version... The pro version is priced similar to this so just go with the pro... Tell tell sign is the color and the logo on the lid Is different from last year... Pro kinda looks like the Y540 from a few years ago
This is 17". Why would I go for 16" pro if I want 17". Your comments are out of topic and not helpful. Almost spammy

I got the GP66 deal from Costco. Honestly, I'm not sure why people are shitting on the screen so much. It's close to 100% sRGB and brightness is decent enough for me. About 300+ nits in real testing.

Guys im torn! I got the Gp66 for similar price. I know. Lenovo is better. But should I wait until BF for better deal? Or should it return it and get this?? The one good thing about Costco is its return policy.

What is Lenovo return policy?

But what is better? The Intel processor?

What about build, and screen, isn't Lenovo better?

$1150 is the real price folks. A bunch of people just had it delivered from ordering it 2 months ago. $1500 is a bit much for a non-pro Legion 5. I paid $1500 for a Legion 5 Pro with Ryzen 5800H, 3070, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD, 16" QHD screen.

This Legion 5 has a smaller 15" 1080p with far inferior color gamut, worse cooling, plastic all around vs magnesium on the L5P, lower memory, lower SSD. There are a bunch of drawbacks that can be mitigated by dropping the price to a more reasonable level like $1150.
That was a price glitch and is unlikely to happen ever again

I have it too. How do I test screen? Would you return the Gp66 for this laptop?

Should I wait for better deal between now and BF?

I need answer. It is better to go with Costco with their return policy. If something come up during Bf, I can still return the laptop

BF will be sparse this year. Shortages are already hitting hard and will only get worse. China is shutting down production factories due to power shortages and samsung had to shut down a chip fab plant due to a fire - 9-12 months. This is only going to to get worse especially as inflation takes hold and prices skyrocket.

Because people these days expect perfectness in $1400 laptops. Crazy? Absolutely. They act like they are going to edit videos and photos professionally on a $1400 laptop. Otherwise just another reason to bitch.

Why buy Intel over AMD?
11800H will give higher peak performance than the 5800H provided the cooling setup is sufficient and the user cares more about using it plugged in than on battery. This is especially true once you undervolt the 11800H.

What is it about geeks that makes them turn every farking tech post into an argument? If you care this much about computer chips then you need to get a farking life. STFU so the rest of us can learn about tech. Or instead of typing your internet cock measuring bullshit, why don't you contribute and help people learn?
