Hello fellow Loungers!

It's that time of year - time for the SD Lounge Secret Santa! Since there is a lot of chatter about shipping delays this year, I decided to start this thread early so we can get people signed up and shopped as early as possible!

If you're interested in participating, please post in this thread, and then PM me your address. Even if you signed up in previous years, please PM me your address so I don't have to go searching for it.

I'll keep signups open until 11/6/21. That gives you almost a month to sign up, get your questionnaires filled out, etc. Don't delay so I can get names assigned.

The rules:

1. You must have been a SD member for at least 6 months with at least 1000 posts or 100 reps to participate. Sorry n00bs.
2. If you participate, you must send a gift to your assigned person. Don't be that guy that ruins the fun for the rest. I don't want to have to send Autumn or Finzz to your house.
3. Please fill out your questionnaire as completely as possible! Being cryptic just makes it harder for your SS to shop for you.
4. There will be a $25 limit for purchases, plus any applicable shipping charges. We're slickdealers - we know how to find some bargains. Use the site to your advantage!
5. Please ship your gifts no later than December 7 to hopefully ensure Christmas delivery.
6. When you ship, please use a service that has tracking (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc), and please PM me the tracking number(s) after you've shipped you gift. If you send items directly from a vendor such as Amazon, that's fine, just please PM me tracking numbers.
7. After you have signed up, please PM me the address where you want your gifts shipped.
8. Wrapping your gifts to your SS is optional.
9. Remember to shop and ship as safely as possible!
10. Please PM me when you have received your gifts so I can ensure everyone got theirs!
11. If you will be unable to ship by Dec 7, please PM me as soon as possible.

Quick lowdown of the program:

Someone asked me for the quick low down on SD SS. Here it is in a nutshell! -Finzz-a-clause

Basically just wait for w3kn to PM you with your partner's address and wish list. If anything is unclear about what they want or you need more info, let him know. Then shop! Get as much as you can for under $25 (we are SD'ers after all!) and then ship it on or by Dec 7th. Make sure to PM w3kn with the tracking number. In the mean time, someone has YOUR name and is doing the same for you! If you don't get your gift by Christmas, let w3kn know and he will track it for you. Better to ship early because of all the shipping drama this year!

Please post in the SS thread when you have your gift so your santa knows you have it, but don't post their name. w3kn will reveal the match ups once everyone has their gift. It is up to you whether to unwrap it when you get, and it is also acceptable NOT to wrap a gift you send, just tell wk3n so he can give a HU to your recipient

Santa has not been, but keeps track of when his elves are delivering goods. I'll pass on info if the shipper says something like "open immediately" or "there are bees in this box, be careful". If I see something is going on, I'll alert the recipient.

The reason I ask is because porch pirates are a real problem. It's best to know when it's coming so everyone can make sure they, or someone else, are home to receive it.

I am usually home but have still had packages stolen.

Sorry to have been MIA, but I've been with my aunt. She passed away last night. It was quite sudden even though she was 93. Her 94th birthday would have been tomorrow. I'm blessed to have been with her until the end.

But I got home and found my Secret Santa box waiting for me! It was a wonderful thing to come home to, after such a gut wrenching week.

I am so sorry for your loss. I totally understand, even a long lived life of 93 is hard to deal with to be sure. It is awesome that you got to be with her until the end. I know most people want to go in their sleep, but when that happens no one gets to say goodbye.

Glad you came home to something that put a smile on your face. Merry Christmas!

Thank you so much! She was an incredible person. If you met her, you loved her. She absolutely lit up any room she entered and kept everyone laughing. She's the reason I have a degree in art. She was a fabulous artist. Smilie

I don't know what it is about those that get into their 90's and above but they have such an affinity for life. I never wanted to be old until I met a few family members that lived into late 90's and under 110. They just appreciate everything and it is wonderful to see. I may die before I am 50, but living to my 90's no longer seems awful but awesome.

Exactly! My family lives to be well into their 90s. My mom is now the last sibling of 6, and she's 84. She still works in her yard and her and my stepfather travel frequently. And she broke her back twice last year! Bigeye

I lost my mom in February, very unexpectedly. It's been rough, especially during the holidays. All I can say is cherish the good memories you had with your aunt. hug

My deepest condolences for your loss Frown hug I am glad that you to to be with her during her last moments. Family is so important, and I am sure she knew how much you cared for her.

Goodness, yes the holidays are rough without one of your parents. May memories of her bring you comfort and let however you feel just flow. Its perfectly normal and healthy to feel deeply and even sad. heart
